    Nervous

    So what happens once I file for bankruptcy-can a credit card company come after me and sue me if I have filed?
    I am worried because I just moved in with my parents and they would freak if a sheriff showed up to serve me with papers! Bank of America and Chase are my biggest debts 14k and 25k-what do you guys think? any advice greatly appreciated!

    I believe the automatic stay prevents them from suing.
    11/14/07 -filed C7 12/04/07 -case pulled for random audit.12/18/07 -341 held: Asset case due to engagement ring & tax return.02/19/08 - US trustee files motion to extend. 04/02/08- changed back to NO ASSET! I get my ring back and get to keep my tax return! :clapping: 04/28/08 -DISCHARGED!!! :yahoo::yahoo: 05/07/08 - CLOSED!!!

      thanks Divorce Ruined Me! I am meeting my lawyer next week with all my paperwork!

        yep and long as you're no asset they won't get didley....you're sittin pretty right now as far as those 2 debts are concerned.....thank goodness for the auto stay.....soon as case is filed , they won't know what hit them lol....

          No - they can't do anything - no collections, garnishments, lawsuits, nothing. As long as you get discharged, they are done.
