I live in Florida and was wondering if anyone could tell me what it cost to file a chapter 7 bk and how long it will take me to get it done and overwith.

Central here. About 1200 to 1800 and if no problems, takes about 4 months.
But.....that is a clean cut case of chap7. -
And 4 months is from Filing to Discharge. In some cases even Closed.
That doesn't count prep time before hand. Gathering the docs your attny will need, getting your pre BK Cert, and your fees paid.
That's also figuring you get your 341 scheduled within 30-45 days of filing. If the Courts are busy, you might be looking at 2 months from filing to the 341. Then another 60 days on top of that for the Objections and Extensions period.Filed Ch 7 - 09/06

Officially Declared No Asset - 03/2007

Interesting how it jumped from 800 in 2005 for a clean cut chapter WITH assets to 1800 clean cut with NO assets in 2007.
Kind of like gasoline. Don't want em to drive so much, don't want em to declare BK so much....

you could give em 500 now, 500 later & 500 when you file. Some will do that. I doubt they willfile until after it is paid in full. You can't go BK on the BK attorney.Originally posted by saltlife View Post
