    Pacer Question

Do you have to pay to view notices on pacer without viewing documents?

I don't really want to pay (especially with their way of counting pages), but I would like to see notices of where I'm at. Is this possible (if I register) without paying?

Unless a lot has been going on in your case, I think it only costs 8 cents to look at the list of your History/Documents.

If you have a routine case,............ Filing, Scheduled 341, Trustee's No Asset Report, filing your Certs,........ I think that's just one billable page on PACER. That would be without opening any documents, like your Petition and such. Just to see where your case stands.

Also, once you look thru things, make note of the Last Date anything posted in your case. Then when you check the main page of your case, if that date of Last Filing has not changed, nothing new has happened.

Thanks. 8 cents down and it says that we are awaiting discharge as of 11-1-07 (7 days down 53 to go?). Is there any reason to check anything other than the status? What I mean is that if there were objections or any other problems where would it show up? Would it be noted in the status screen?

      Thanks.

Well I checked history and documents too, and it showed more detail, but was uneventful which I suppose is a good thing. We're still riding out our objection period for our telephonic appearance.

We haven't heard anything since our 341, so I just wanted a heads up on where we were. We did our education course and they recorded it, so we only have to file a no objections to telephonic appearance form, and then the wait continues.

Now just make note of the Last Date of Filing on the main page. Unless or until something new happens, that date won't change and there's no need to go looking into your History/Documents.

If your Trustee already filed the "No Asset" report, there won't be a new update until you file your Debtor Ed Cert.

When you file your post BK Debtor Ed Cert, the Last Date of Filing will update.

Then again, when you Discharge, the Last Date of Filing will update.

And one more time when your case is Closed.

If you have other changes in that Date, then something has happened. And that's really the only time you need to check. When the Date of Last filing changes.

Thanks. We have our no asset report and debtor ed showing (post 341 debtor ed) and I expect our certification of no objections will show as well when we get that in later this month. Then it is just discharge and close! Good information, thank you very much.

There is no "Certification of No Objections".

If your 60 days elapses and no Creditors come forward, then you'll get Discharged.

Different Courts handle Discharge and Closing differently.

Some Courts Discharge the next day after the last day for Objections elapses. Others have varying waiting periods.

Same with Closing. Some Courts Discharge and Close at the same time. Some Discharge, have a waiting period and then Close.

All depends on how your Court does things.

By Certificate of no objections I mean a form that we are required to file after 15 days from sending out notice for telephonic appearance (mentioned in an above post).
