    In the middle of Ch7, and some collections service is after me

    We have been getting a bill for $140 from a mail order prescription place. We didn't receive one around the time we filed, so we didn't know about it.
    So this debt was incurred before we filed, but we forgot to list it. Our 341 was back in October.
    Yesterday, 11/27, we received a letter froma collections place about this debt.

    I'd like to take care of this myself if possible so I don't have to pay my attorney any more money. (I'm sick of spending money!)

    What to do? Every debt prior to filing is erased right?

    All debts are erased that were incurred before you filed, but only if you are a no asset case. If you are an asset case, I believe you can still amend your petition to include this debt, so this collector can receive whatever monies available to them and you'll be in the clear.

    If you are a no asset case, send the collector a copy of your BK filing.

    Discharged - 02/16/2006
