Is it common for the CC companies to lock you out of your online access after you file?

I believe it is quite common. I filed 11/29, and I can no longer access those online accounts. If memory serves me correctly, it's because of the automatic stay. If you were allowed to access the accounts, it could look like they were pressuring you to pay, although I always wondered why since you don't have to go there unless you want to.
So far, luckily, I'm able to access my mortgage online.11/29/2007 - Filed Ch 7

Yes. All of our credit cards locked us out when we filed.Chapter 13 filed -8/12/04
