I know there have been postings that people that are going through a divorce there bk case doesn't always close right away. Does anyone know of any cases where your bk will close right away while going through a divorce. My discharge date should be around 01/26/08.

I think the reason it doesn't close is b/c the trustee is holding out for assets that may be distributed during the divorce. That's just my guess though.11/14/07 -filed C7
12/04/07 -case pulled for random audit.
12/18/07 -341 held: Asset case due to engagement ring & tax return.
02/19/08 - US trustee files motion to extend.
04/02/08- changed back to NO ASSET! I get my ring back and get to keep my tax return! :clapping: 04/28/08 -DISCHARGED!!! :yahoo::yahoo: 05/07/08 - CLOSED!!! -
From what I've read on dadsdivorce.com and creditboards.com, its the other way around. The bankruptcy will hold up the divorce due to the fact the federal court trumps the state court. Then, if you end up with a bankruptcy that takes an unusually long time then your divorce just kinda hangs in limbo until the bankruptcy is over.Filed: 7/31/08
