    rethinking...just got credit report

Although my income/debt ratio is out of whack, I just got my credit score (only from experian) and it is 705. If suffering financially, is the score really even worth considering? I feel like I am back at square one. As it is I will file in Sept. (after waiting the obligatory 90 days). I guess a good score isn't going to help me pay the bills, but, well...I don't know - guess I just need some reassuring

If you can't pay your bills, your credit score is of little value to you, because how would you pay for new credit that you can get with that score, if you can't even pay your obligations now.

Stay the course, there is more to life than a credit score.

I agree with HHM. Our credit score was almost perfect, but the price we were paying cutting corners and robbing peter to pay paul was not worth it. We are about 12 days to discharge and we are starting to feel the relief now. It is nice have enough money to make it to our next check without worrying if checks will bouce.

You have to look at where you are and where you want to be, you credit score will bounce back eventually.

thanks, guys. I suppose I am looking for any reason not to do this. I wish the law change was not so soon as I am feeling a little rushed, but since it is inevitable anyway I guess now is no differetn than later - except the relief will come quicker.
