Tomorrow is the day, first lawyer consult. My CPA reccomended this guy. When I made the appointment the lady told us we didn't need to bring anything unless we had something in particular for him to look at. I figure I should at least take a list of debts, list of assets and a 6 month income breakdown. Oh yeah, and of course the 634 questions we have for him . Anything else you can think of that would make it easiest for him to see where we're at and make the most out of this consult.

I took 2006/2007 tax copies, a couple pay stubs and my credit report.
My atty had me fill out a long form with all of my debts/assets so if you already have that, I'd go ahead & take it. Their form had some stuff I forgot (bikes, patio furniture).
The credit report was really helpful in my case because I hired the attorney I first consulted with. I had all of my account numbers in full written in on my accounts. He said I was the most organized client!
Good Luck!Filed C7: 3/21/08

I had filled out the means test forms I got on this forum, took a while but kept me focused. It's definitely income/asset based, and living expenses...if you don't pass the means test for a Ch7 then it's on to a 13...we're still struggling with the idea of 5 years of repayment, esp. when we were hoping to be retired by then. But we do what we have to, at least this forum has been very helpful and supportive. Good luck to you, keep us posted on your progress.04/04/08 filed Ch. 13
