I finally told a few of my creditors that I had hired the services of a lawyer and would be filing within the next month and they told me they would stop calling. I was surprised, I thought that they wouldn't stop calling until I had a case number? Any reason why they ask what Chapter I would be filing, I told them I didn't want to disclose that information and they could talk to my lawyer, but other than that they were very nice about it.

Their interested in which Chapter 7 or 13............because Chapter 7 usually means "no money for them" and Chapter 13 can mean "they might get some money back"..... they want to know whether to file a claim or not.....Minny

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.

And if they are trying to speed up the collection efforts, they still won't get money.
