    Rumor has it...

So, we had our signing appointment with the attorney yesterday paid the rest of the fees, went over and signed the paperwork. The paralegal explained each page of the form and asked and answered questions as we went. It actually went better than I expected. They will be filing today for a Chapter 7.

The funny part is when my husband went back to work, he was confronted by his supervisor who said, "rumor has it around the squad that your getting a divorce..." Apparently several of my husband's co-workers saw his car at the attorney's office and assumed a divorce is impending.

Needed a good stress relieving laugh...

Also, has your husband been on the phone more possibly with the attorney or other BK related calls and overhead by co-workers? Co-workers immediately notice if you are out of the office more for appointments, more personal calls, etc., etc. and will assume anything. Then, of course, possibly seeing your car outside a law firm.

If your husband doesn't want them to know what is going on, have him tell them you have been updating Wills due to family issues - that will shut them up! :-)

I'm glad you can laugh about that - nosey coworkers starting rumors would get to me. Maybe you should drop him off at work and give him a big kiss and hug in the parking lot to make the rumors more interesting.

How about if your husband just reminds everybody else he works with that they are all about 1 income-less month or a big doctor's bill away from having to do the same thing.
I do not provide legal advice. All I do here is give my two cents as an opinion and at least share some of the facts that I know. Attorneys can provide legal advice, so go ask them or hire one.

Same here, we never ever in a million years thought we'd be here.

Far as nosey fellow employees, I think the will idea is great. That would definitely make them feel like idiots and yes do take him to work and give him a big kiss. Besides who cares what they all think, they sound like they all need to get a life to me!
