Gave my attorney his first payment!

Dropped of my first payment to my attorney. They put it in a trust and when I have the full $1500 paid, they will start work on my file. It feels good but I still have a long way to go until its paid in full.

Us too! Our file date keeps getting pushed back because I am trying to save extra $$ for our attorney and have a little for emergencies. You would think that since I'm not paying the cc right now, that I'd have all this extra $$, but it's going straight to our attorney (we are about 2/3's paid). We were originally suppose to file Aug 1st...

LOL...we are almost there as well with the payments. We still have $400 to save, then we can file. Our atty has told us everything is ready for signing. I hate the waiting. I think the 15th of this month, we will have enough. YAY

I'll be making another payment next week. Doesn't sound like my attorney will start work on the file until it is paid in full. Is that normal? Anyway, he didn't make it sound like it would take too long to get done after he starts.

They should be willing to get everything ready. I think that is a personal preference of your atty. However, I know they can't file until you are paid in full because then they would be a creditor to you, which makes complete sense.
