Question about College Tuition

Can college tuition, and books, fees be consider an expense although it isn't a necessity?

My spouse was in a state program that paid her tution to become a teacher; the program was cancelled but she has a year more to graduate, will the Trustee be interested in knowing this also? It will explain our increase in debt.

Well, if its an expense you have, then go ahead and list it. But whether it will be an "allowed" expense is another question and will depend on how much it is. But I don't think it will be a problem.
