    For those dealing with Chase

I just spoke to them this morning and the woman was very nice.

She actually told me to fax them a cease and desist letter and follow up with a letter.

That was great news as I thought that cease and desist letters did not apply to original creditors.

She also told me that they could put a verbal 10 day hold on calls pending the letter.

Maybe the debt collection laws are changing.

    I will send mine tomorrow.
Very fortunate in the grand scheme of things but have learned my lesson.

    Filed 12/15/08, 341 1/12/09, Cont to 2/12/09, cont to 3/12/09, cont to 4/15/09, cont to 5/11/09, cont to 6/02/09. Discharged 9/16/09, Closed 10/23/09

I know people say terrible things about Chase, but we BKed them over 20,000 of CC debt and they never so much as squeaked. Maybe we just got lucky though...

In California, Texas and Michigan you can "cease and desist" original creditors. I just sent out the letters on Friday. I didn't know it was OK to fax the letters...that would have save me a lotta postage, as I sent the certified.
