    When to file...preplanning

I can't make my two CC payments this month. doubtfull I'll make them next month because I'll owe double and so on and so forth. Technically I'm not behind as of right now. I think BK is the best thing for me as I'll just continue to get farther behind. Plus I'll never have the money to pay them off. So...wait till I'm three months, four months behind before I file? I'm meeting with my attorney next week but just wanted to get some input from here.

    Thanks!

The barometer of when to file, when dealing with credit cards, is at least 90 days since the last time you used them. There are other timing issues but that is the first thing to take in consideration.

    Good Luck

Stop paying on the cards now--stop using them too--and save that money toward the attorney. When you file will depend on your financial situation and what your attorney recommends. If you have made any large purchases or cash advances recently, you will need to let those age as long as possible. Also, if you get a bonus or something like that, waiting till that drops off the radar will give a more accurate picture financially.

      Good luck to you!

I haven't used them in almost a year. Just paying the minimum and then being late last month on one and the interest jumped to 28% and the payment doubled. I'm sure the other one will do the same thing. I have one other CC with a balance of about $580 on it and I used it about two months ago. My thinking is that I can save up a little more money each month to pay my lawyer.
