OK, I never signed a reaffirmation for either my mortgage or my 2nd mortgage. My 1st mtg does not require a reaffirmation. My 2nd mtg sent a reaffirmation, but I refused to sign without having a reaffirmation for my 1st mtg. Does anyone know if I'll ever start receiving bills in the mail again for my 2nd mtg.? I hate not knowing my balance every month or my monthly payment due.

While in BK, you will probably receive 'for informational purposes' statements.
Once discharged, they will go back to sending you regular statements (both on the 1st and 2nd). As long as you remain current on your payments, the lenders won't bother you, they're happy to get their $$$. If you're planning on letting the house go, you will start getting notices to get caught up, and eventually an accelerated payment notice, and finally, a notice of sale.

In almost all cases, if you don't sign a reaffirm then the lender will no longer send you paper statements nor will they report your payments to the CRAs. You could probably call them to get an updated balanceFiled Ch 7 - 07/10/08

My BK7 was discharged August 18, 2008 and closed August 26, 2008. As for my 2nd mortgage, I did not sign the reaffirmation, but have been making payments as usual. It is being reported to the credit bureau. It says "paid or paying as agreed". Same goes with my 1st mortgage.May 5, 2008 - Filed Ch7
June 13, 2008 - 341 Meeting
August 12, 2008 - Last day for objections... August 18, 2008 - Discharged!
August 26, 2008 - CASE CLOSED!

Then you have all well in hand. I would not worry nor stire any sh**, as they are taking and reporting payment as agreed. You can't get better than that. If you scare them with questions and they know you are 7 without reaffirmation, could prompt them to cause accelerated pay or interest problems. Oh no! I'm not going to stir any sh*t!! I just want to know my balance. Maybe next month when I drive thru to pay my bill, I can just ask for my balance. I'm always afraid my payment is going to be under the minimum due. Yes, I worry alot! LOL I'm trying to get better.May 5, 2008 - Filed Ch7
