    Creditors' Addresses

How do I go about finding the absolute, correct, address for my creditors? Is the PO box that I send my cc payments sufficient? Should I try to find the corporate headquarters for credit cards? Also, my two mortgages appear to both be held by the same bank, but someone at the bank told me that they are just 'servicing' the first mortgage and that it was sold to another division. When I list the mortgage holders, is it sufficient to use the address where my payments go?

Generally the address you send the payment to is a payment address. On your credit card statements there are sometimes on the back two addresses listed. One for correspondence and the other for payments. Ideally you want the correspondence address, though if you really want to cover yourself on the creditor matrix list both.

Even if they are just servicing the account since you have no access to the holder, you would list them in the case of the first mortgage.

Many CC statements on the back have other correspondence addresses, and many show BK addresses for BK purposes. The best thing to do is go to the creditor's website and view their contact section for the correct information.

I know this might be expensive, but what my lawyer did was send the notice to every address he could find/had for any creditor we had. Seems like the "safe" way to go, no way for any creditor to say they didn't get your letter when you sent it to 5 addresses.

Well, here's what I did, based on your recommendations. I called every creditor and asked the person on the phone the address for mailing bankruptcy documents. Each and every creditor gave me a completelly different address from the one that is listed for payments or for general correspondence.

I sent those addresses on to my atty, along with the address for each creditor that is listed on credit report. I hope that is sufficient!

My attorney told me just to list the address you send payments to. He said that is the expected corospondence address they expect you to use to send your payments and it would suffice for notifications. His paralegals also said they have correct address if I make a mistake. Of course, I don't look at my final matrix to submit until next week.
