    Keeping Car after discharge

    Question:
After discharge of a chapter 7 with no reaffirmation on a car with a recorded lien is there an obligation to surrender the car if payments are not made? Why not just store the car for a few years instead? What are the ramifications of storing car to prevent repossession?

Worse case scenario is the Lienholder will file a civil suit against you. You'd be better off surrendering the vehicle.

    Good Luck!

      surrender??

never. besides the lienholder is also my employer which still owes me $$$ for back wages. suits dont scare me. What's the worse in a civil suit? they cant sue me for the balance since that was erased in chapt 7 with no reaf. Plus the value of the car is about $6000 and would fetch about $3500 tops at auction.
