    new hurdle

So, i just found out that i got this fantistic job i have been waiting to hear about... It's the same employer i'm at now- just better...

Anyway, it's about 1 1/2 from where we live now, so we're obviously going to move.

Well since we haven't filed BK yet- we have really s**tty credit, 2 car repos and muilitple lates..

So how in the world am i going to get approved for a rental? On top of that- my husband has been out of work.. so just 1 income.

    I'm just venting, really..

We saw these nice lofts near the building i'll be working at and i applied under just my name (no sense in putting my husband because he's credit is bad too, and he doesn't have any income) and i just think i'll get declined.

My hope is that i'll find an owner renting a property and let them know the situation..

    congratz on the new job.

I think its ridiculous how places check your credit report before renting. Just be prepared to look and apply for tonz of places, you WILL find something, its just going to make it a little harder, but you'll be ok!

By 1 1/2, I am assuming you mean 1 1/2 hours? Are you being offered relocation expenses? If not, some or all of your relocation expenses will be tax deductable for you for this tax year. Many places have a relocation service - check with your HR - maybe they can refer you to someone who can help you find a rental or find one for you.

My commute daily is 60 miles one way to my employer...sometimes takes over 1 1/2 hours. Been doing that for almost 5 years, even during our Chapter 13. It's an option if you can't get an approval. But I gather from your posting you don't have the vehicles to do a commute like that. Another option is a friend, coworker or family member that may leave near your new job that you could stay with through the week until you get a handle on things and can move. Best of luck to you!
