    Chapter 7 and Tax Refund

    I am going to file chapter 7 within the next week in Indiana. Could the bk court take or put a hold on the 2004 tax refund I expect?

    My wife is conteplating taking on a part time job sometime after we wife for bk, but probably before the 341 meeting. Does any job or income changes like that need to be reported?

    Hi,

    Do you know how much money you will recieve back from your tax returns? If the amount meets your states exemptions then list it on your petitition of doing so makes you feel more comfortable.

    Your wife's part-time job, could have little or no affect on your BK Petition - it depends on your situation. Are you guys filing for BK jointly?

      We are filing jointly, taxes and bankruptcy. She has many medical bills and we have joint accounts.

      We usually get back $1000-1800. I'll have to check my states exemptions, but I thought it was in the $7000-8000 range.
