How did you become broke ?

    Hi All,

I recently started a forum called ... it is generally just for people with financial difficulties to leave messages to each other.

Since it is new, I have no one posting in it yet. I figured that I will need some interesting content for other people to get interested to post their comments as well. Which is why I turn to this forum's members for help.

If you have time, could you please share your story (how you became broke) in the forum .

Hopefully your posting will receive comments, meet new contacts. And hopefully this forum becomes another place to check for messages while having a cup of coffee in the morning.

    Regards,
    Joe.

What is your plan? The board has nothing that would encourage people to post. Perhaps add some other topics-like a steals & deals area where people could discuss ways they find to save money.
Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. When you're searching online, keep in mind there is no guarantee that the info is completely up to date, and your situation is unique from anyone else's. Do your homework, and consult with an attorney so you can make an informed decision.

Your site is seriously lacking. It's quite tacky to come on another site and advertise your non-running site.

The way it's set up it would appear that person A would post the reason they are broke and just get ridiculed by person B.C or D.

Its something you can build on though. If it is more about finding a positive direction than dwelling on past mistakes, that is.

was he selling something? i did get to see the website but if its just a help site then why not post it. we post forums all the time to better help others.

spam is one thing. a helping site is another imo.

I think linking to another site is an important part of these forums but not the way he did. He is more or less advertising his site, which is not using it as a reference to help someone on here with a problem.

                    HRx et. al. ,

The forum that I am starting is a non-profit forum. People are FREE to post. Please don't see it as stealing your members away from bankruptcyforum.com ... rather, it is just "another" forum where they can post messages.

People don't just use a single forum. They use many forums. They usually have a list of forums to check in the morning. Once they have finished interacting with other members there, they move to the next forum, and so on. By the point is, just because they started posting in another forum does not imply that they will abandon the previous forum that they frequented.

My aim for advertising my forum here is to present some members with a new avenue where they can air out their problems. It is NOT an "alternative" avenue. Let's face it, bankruptcyforum.com has more substance.

                    Anyway that is all.

                    Kind regards
                    Joe.
