How do I get addresses of creditors?

Hello to all who understand the stress of bankruptcy. I have been trying to prepare my papers for bankruptcy but do not have the addresses and account number for the "original creditors", just for the credit agencies. My attorney says I need both the original AND the credit agencies but I can't seem to get them. I ordered a credit report which just had the names, not addresses. Any suggestions?

Also, one of the credit agencies has filed suit and I am scheduled for arbitration this week. If I am filing bankruptcy anyway, what is the benefit of going to the arbitration meeting? Thanks to all in this forum.

You can buy a credit report that gives the addresses, but its usually an extra and you will need to select it as an option to the report you purchase.

There is no benefit to going to the arbitration. However, you should get your BK Filed ASAP before they file a post arbitration judgment request.

what is post arbitration judgment request?

What is that? Also, if our arbitration is set this Friday and I do not go....how long until that post arbitration judgment is filed? Basically how long from now do I have to file my BK?

Pretty much any one of the 3 Credit Reporting agencies will provide you with a 3 Agency report and you can get addresses. I prefer Trans Union

But you can got to www.equifax.com or Experian www.experian.com

As for arbitration, how it usually works is that you go to arbitration and then the prevailing party will request that the arbitrators award be awarded as a judgement (if you don't show, or don't pay). In either event, if you are certain to file BK, going to arbitration is a waste of time.

Re: how to get addresses of old creditors, what I couldn't get from my credit reports, I got this way- I'd find a phone number for the creditor and reassure whomever I talked to that I was about to come into some money unexpectedly and wanted to settle up some old debts, if they could kindly tell me where to send the payment to. Worked every time! The poor schmucks would eagerly give me the info, thinking they were about to get a big commission on an old account. Hey, whatever it takes. . . . .
