stand corrected, went according to the final statements in that chapter in the book and thought she did vote for it. And it at least helps me esteem her in the way i formerly did. I think that she did have a positive impact and kept alot of things at bay. But thanks for the correction and my apologies for the political faux pas.

It came down down to CC companies having most of the say, but where is their responsibility in issuing credit? I am disgusted by the whole thing and the prospect especially in Florida of people losing homes now that the exemption has been overidden. There is no such thing as a 125,000 home in Florida anymore. That literally won't get you the lot and trailer. A 75 X 100 lot down here (that is a builders lot) IF you can find it will likely cost 125,000 in Broward County. We are still seeing double digit value increases.

They had a chance to assess responsibilty issues on both sides and did not.

Geez, I've had CSPAN X'd out for several years. Thanks to the creation of "Homeland security", the general loss of freedoms that I see compounding everyday, even down to the fishing areas that are now off limits (which just struck me as a Nazi sounding organization, I'm sorry, it just bothers me, like an organization that can easily be turned against any group, left or right) and other beauracracies and general disgust with the present administration I lost the desire to be interested in Politics and decided to bow out for awhile as i was obsessed with the subject for about 16 years. I did not watch any of the BK Bill issues on TV for that reason. At 46 I've reached the point where I do not watch the news for the most part anymore. Guess it's time to start back. I feel that as ordinary people we have lost control of the Country and that our future is less and less determined by the laws of the Republic and more and more by beauracracies that can be a law unto themselves and answer to no one.

And please everyone, no comments about a break from news or politics, we all take hiatus's, sometimes long ones, in life.

I don't like Kennedy at all just as I don't like MBNA. I'm not defending the new bankruptcy laws, but I think despite all the changes not much really has changed for the middle and lower class. Middle & lower class can still get relief from the courts. The posted example kennedy gave was a bad example. That individual would still qualify. Kennedy like most dems "feel our pain". Bull $h!t to that! They fly chartered jets, ride limos but tell us not to drive SUV's. They have body guards and tell us honest people f..k the 2nd ammendment. People tend to vote on issues that benefit themselves. Nothing wrong with that. No one here or anywhere will change my view as I don't plan on changing anyone's views. I will say the reason why I don't like the dems as they proved at the state of the union is they haven't even made an issue of national security. They sat like the idiots they are when Bush said he's doing everything he can to prevent another attack. Forget the bankruptcy laws and every other issue. That's number 1 to me as it should be to everyone that reads this.

No, no, no! They had the majority by 1 vote. For a short time that year. Many dems voted for the bankruptcy reform act. That 1 vote didn't alter anything. I read (can't find the source though) that sept 11th, national security was the reason this bill left us for a while. Those were the days. Both parties united for the security of this great nation. Then the dems went back to the 1960's and burned the flag. What a shame.

I, for one, am sick of NATIONAL SECURITY being used as an excuse to F*** us little people over by the neocons. I'm sick of having a bunch of half-informed, little-read, neoconservative thugs decide elections when they don't even know what they are talking about. So there.

You're right! I am full of opinions. I have that right as everyone here does. The taliban doesn't think so nor does al-Qaeda. They would actually murder me if they knew I didn't like Kennedy. That's why I am NOT SICK OF NATIONAL SECURITY. I am entitled to keep my head attached to my body for expressing my opinions. The statement speaks for itself. As for who I like it doesn't matter. I can go on forever, but I figured we weren't here to discuss who I like. Not on a bankruptcy forum. I made a point that Kennedy's words as well as Zapata's (while they are entitled to their opinions) it's just hot air! If you are the "little guy or gal" and need help under new law NOTHING CHANGED except more paperwork. They will get their discharge You can get a fresh start and at the same time stick it to mbna!

I do wonder though Zapata & Pink, why are you so angry? IMO, you don't inspire anyone when you are angry.

WOW! Lighten up there angry one! You seem to young to be bitter. I came here to get answers to a problem that mostly was created by myself as some of you have too. I didn't come here from the commune with my round glasses & flowered shirt singing and clapping "power to the people". Take it easy, relax. One day we'll meet and you can get a ride in my VW bus and talk about the old days at woodstock. It will be groovy! LOL

Ok, everybody. Let's join hands and sing the Coke song. LOL...
Really, Fool, you have the wrong idea about liberal thinkers. You have somehow equated our political leanings with weakness. Chill. You are so wrong. We are not bitter. We are angry, but determined. We are out there in throngs. And we vote.

Buddy, I am not on this earth to inspire you.

Let me say... I forget who said this (some founding father or another: You have a right to ignorance, but you have a duty to avoid it. Something similar to that.

                  A duty.

it is your duty to be informed.
