If trustee asks for tax refund...

Do I have to send him a copy of my return or just my refund check from the IRS?

I think it would depend on what he said. If he said he wants to see your return, send a copy of the paperwork. If he said don't cash your check, you'll need to send him the check.
Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. When you're searching online, keep in mind there is no guarantee that the info is completely up to date, and your situation is unique from anyone else's. Do your homework, and consult with an attorney so you can make an informed decision.

He said, "don't cash your check."

So, I guess I file my return, IRS sends check to me and then do I send it to my lawyer or directly to the trustee?

So if the Trustee asked us to send our Attorney copies of our tax refund, and didn't say anything about the check is there a possibility that he won't take the refund?
