May I ask a question here? Mark234, if your life and financial decisions have been so perfect, what are you doing hanging around a bankruptcy support forum? Just trying to make people feel badly who haven't made decisions as well as you claim you have? What's the point then? Does it boost your self-esteem?

No, I'm not someone who makes 70k and charged up a bunch of credit cards. I have a little girl who went into the children's hospital and when she came out, it was hell getting someone to babysit her so I could go back to work because she is insulin-dependent and that frightens a lot of babysitters. So I missed more work than I could afford to miss. That's my story.

But anyway, enough about me. I don't think people come here to get preached at. It's a SUPPORT FORUM. The folks who come here know they have made mistakes and probably already feel foolish enough about them. Do you get off on kicking people when they're down? If you don't have anything positive to add, that's basically what you're doing.

Now I live in Boston, I just bought a house for $550 and have a mortgage of close to $400K. I travel, have nice furniture, drive a nice car, and have a great fiancee. Otherwise no debt. Oh, and I'm making just over $100K now but save about 25% of my pay (401Ks are great by the way).

You guys shouldn't be declaring bankruptcy with salaries in the 70K region not even in the 60K region, especially you guys down south.

What do you buy to rack up $80K credit card debts? Why do you buy $30K to $40K cars and finance them almost 100% (or worse lease them)? Buy a civic or a used car and save your money. Live within your means, pay down your mortgages, don't buy fancy electronics, jewelry, expensive vacations or go drinking on the weekends. Spend your extra money on retirement savings and education for your kids. Focus on getting a better job. Live a responsible, prudent life and be mature with your money.
Congrats on your 'perfect' life. I am glad you never worked for a company that got sold and dropped from a salary of $70K to $30K in one weekend. I am glad you have never had your spouse diagnosed with Rheumatiod Arthritis that make even getting out of bed some days a huge challenge. I am glad you never had a vehicle that completely screwed you over and you had to roll it into another vehicle.

We have always tried to 'live within our means'. Life happens and sometimes 'our means' change and there ain't crap we can do about it.

Dawn is right, you are a troll who is here to make yourself feel superior to others. I am sure there is a "my life is perfect and I need to conpensate" forum out there.

Oh and sorry someone obviously pissed in your wheaties today and you feel the need to make everyone pay.

I guess I've offended too many people here? I feel sorry that the medical system here is so screwed up that it bankrupts families. I guess growing up in Canada I never really have seen that? Well I hope that my being an '*******' has helped some people, especially the young people who use credit irresponsibly that there is hope for the future.

I know that it is easy to go into bankruptcy when someone becomes ill in the family or if you lose your job and lose medical insurance. This is something I don't believe in as part of Bush's 'ownership' society.

Oh well, take care everyone and I will pray for all of you!
