OIC and Pending BK Filing

AAAart...we had to pay the IRS too a few years ago. Fortunately, we were able to pay them in installments. Our debt was not nearly as large as yours but it was at a time when my husband was in the trauma center, etc...I know there is no good time but it was a honest mistake. Regardless, the "kindler, gentler IRS refused to waive any penalties associated with the bill. We paid it off in one year but it was really hard. The problem with them is the meter is running and to me there is something scary about owing them...I know there have been horror stories about them foreclosing on houses, etc.. and maybe that isnt the norm but I would rather owe anyone else than owe them.
