    Home owners insurance

Did your BK effect your home insurance to go up ? Or was it hard to get a new carrier. Mine is up for renewal with an increase of $300 a year. I am shopping for a new carrier but I imagine It will be hard to get or pay thru the nose.

I have been told, by an insurance broker, that slow pays are far worse than BK. If you have a repeat history of paying bills late, this broker said he won't sell to you. If you've filed BK, he will consider the circumstances and then decide. If you filed BK due to something out of your control like loss of job, medical bills, etc., you can still get insurance. Premiums may be slightly higher to start or with a less than premium company, but you can get insurance.

Credit scores now have more of an impact on insurance rates than almost any other factor.

DUH, They could really care less its about the $$$$$$$$

Also not only your credit score but all the hurricanes have REALLY affected our insurance premiums........... especially homeowners......

Its a "pay the freight and you can have it" world.... the $$$$$ rules!!!!

Shame, they just try to make it that much harder on people trying to survive...

Even harder on those on limited incomes or fixed incomes....

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.
