Recent bank statements

How recent do your statements have to be when you file? I started talking to atty in early Jan so he had me give him statements for all of 2005. Now we'll be filing next week probably and he hasn't mentioned needing any recent statements...will they be asking?

And I only have to report what is in my bank account that day, right?

I've been using up some money by paying utility bills, phone, groceries, etc and I have saved every receipt to prove it! I don't want them to thing I'm doing something funny with it!

Does the trustee actually go over your statements or do they just use the paperwork submitted by your atty?

I would like to know the answer to this, too. I've heard that they may want records as far back as 4 years. So, I'm not going to file for BK until 4 years from the date of my last credit card purchase, but most people don't have the ability to hold off that long because they don't get paid "under the table" like I do.

When I went for my 341 (new law, middle district of FL) the trustee only asked for the bank statements which had the 30 days leading up to my filing date

Since the attny we retained to help us with our house and the Breach, and the Foreclosure drug his feet and didn't do anything,...........

I talked to a NEW attny today!!

She said the Court here is asking for 7 months of things. Bank statements, utilities bills, income statements, interest statements, etc. Odd number, but it's 7 months worth of stuff.

Also, the look back period on CC's is a year in the Court here. As long you don't have any extravagant purchases in the last year, this Court won't look back further than that.
