    what purchases are non necessary

My computer lately has really been locking up a lot. I want to order McAfee virus scan and use paypal but don't want to appear frivolous with our money. Would small online purchases under $100 still be o.k. until our 341 or discharge?

plus I just read that McAfee has an auto renewal each year, so would that make them a creditor? So is it best to not take on new creditors at this time?

Buying anti-virus would not be a problem. If you have already filed BK, you can buy anything you want. Your regular earnings after the date of filing the BK are not property of your BK estate and therefore you can do anything you want with them (for the most part)

Let me save you a few bucks...

Instead of paying for McAfee or Norton, try using AVG for free from this link:

Download free antivirus and malware protection. Tune up your PC, Mac, & Android. Encrypt your connection and browse anonymously with a VPN.

I've been using it for several months and it is every bit as effective as the others that you must pay for. Give it a try before you fork over your hard earned cash.

I have used AVG for a while too. Works great and free to boot.

              You're welcome.

BTW - If you haven't done so already, you should go to Download.com and get Ad-Aware and SpyBot Search and Destroy for spyware also. They are both free of charge too.
