    Garlic lovers?

I have recently been buying this salsa, Chachi's, that has garlic in it. I really like the finely chopped version, but unfortunately, it seems to have the highest garlic content. I eat it with those little Tostitos's scoopers and before ya know it, salsa is GONE.

Well, I went home after work yesterday and my bf says, You've had garlic today, haven't you? Oh boy...he said I smelled up the whole house, I could even smell it on me. This is so embarressing. He had to open up all the windows last night to air out the house.

I don't know if this qualifies as a weird habit, but apparently, due to my line of work, I can't continue my chips & salsa snack w/chachi's salsa.

When I can smell it myself, that's bad.

I've read up on garlic & it's properties on the 'net and it's an ecoli killer as well as an anitibiotic...plus other properties...

I wish it didin't make me smell so bad!

LOL....unfortunately swallowing a bottle of mouthwash won't even kill the garlic odor. Trust me, I've tried to swallow a few mouthfulls and it made no difference. LOL!

Hubby has a friend. Really sweet, Italian guy. Almost everything he eats has garlic in it. This guy has a "unique" body odor. You know he's coming before you ever see him. Took us a while to figure out it has to be the garlic in his diet.

My husband swears by the enteric coated garlic for allergies! I have been so miserable this week that I am about to break down and try it!

Would rather eat the chips and salsa, but my hips don't need any encouragement to expand!

LOL...well I tried to stick with the serving size of 19 little chips, right....lol...but supposedly the heat of the salsa speeds up your metabolism...I haven't gained weight from that snack, just bad garlic odor in the body....

But they say when it comes out of you that means that the garlic has gone through your system and you are reaping the health benefits...

            LOL Amis~
I am still laughing with you........
Yes....garlic...that magical "stinky" fruit~ but HEY~ IT'S GOOD FOR YOU!!!!!!
I don't know if this helps "curb the scent" ...but try scraping your tongue after you eat it...you'd be amazed at what comes off of your tongue~ and curtails the stinky problem.....!!!!!!!!! I know it gets into your blood system, and it does make a unique scent, but really...scraping the tongue will help with the mouth area....!!!!!!!!!!

I do not smell myself at this time...4:45 p.m....

              ...thank god....

It's too bad my bf doesn't like the garlic like me. He said he had a roommate that ate a "foogazi" pizza once a week and they had to air the place out every weekend.

I wonder if it's just the type of garlic I'm eating? I can't tell you how good that Chachi's salsa dip is.

Is there anything I can take to conquer the odor?

Sulfurous oils like those in garlic attach to your sweat as one way to get flushed out of the body - that causes the garlic body odor. Until the body works the oils out, the garlic will continue to be smellable through your breath and pores. This is definitely a volume problem - the more garlic eaten, the worse the garlic body odor. Only cure is to cut garlic out until it's cleared from your system, then go back to more reasonable levels.

Many folks take garlic capsules to get the garlic health benefit but not the sulfurous oils problem. That's worth a try, Amis.

I can vouch for garlic it does more than make your breath stink. I had a coworker that was a health nut and ate cloves of garlic throughout the day. His body odor would knock you down at the end of the day.

Just like my mom's neighbors and friends, who are from india. Their whole house reaks of curry, very overpowering, including their own personal body odor. You can smell them from the food they eat even when they are outside.
