Deep film, hard to believe from Clint Eastwood. Incredibly deep, no plot. Just life. Hard to believe that with no love story, no stealing a boat in New York Harbor, no posing modern frigates as WWII ships, no "take that hill", no hoorah, a truly deep War Movie has been made. Worth supporting, highest quality in acting, scenery. A very moving film. Not a feel good popcorn flick. This told what the excellent film "Saving Private Ryan" did not. The human cost of the wars we fight way beyond battle fields. Families split, lies told, mothers never imaging how their sons died and never being told, thankfully. Even the real character "Ignatowski's" torture and death are not shown in the film, I suppose because of living siblings.
