Watch out for jumping curbs today!

When I was driving across the bridge this morning, heading west, onto the island, I saw a car on the other side of the road, going east starting to smoke from the rear.

Apparently, this person, driving a mustang, rode up on the curb, at the beginning of the bridge & was now going about 50 mph stradling the curb and didn't look like they were braking at all but more like "gunning" it maybe, to get across the bridge faster?

Oh my god, I was terrified they were going to come off the curb & hit the ongoing traffice....as I looked in my rv mirror, I saw more smoke & sparks....I can only imagine coming off the curb on the other side...it's probably a good 1,000 feet of bridge....the curb is high to seperate the pedestrians from the road...it's a two lane bridge...as well...that's it...

So, please be careful this holiday season & watch out for curbs!

Amazing how foolish some people can be when they have to make a fast decision after a driving mistake. Hope your Mustang driver made it off the other side of the bridge ok without hurting anyone else with his/her poor decision to keep on going half off the road. Think of the damage inflicted to the tires and underframe of the car - I sure don't envy the driver trying to explain how this "accident" happened to their insurance company!
I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.

I know this isn't the same, but it reminds me of the time I bought a brand new Buick, right off the showroom floor - a 1985 model - I was 23, yeah, I'm old! LOL

Anyway, on the way home from the dealership, I reached down on the floor to get my pocketbook and I ran the car up on the curb because I wasn't paying attention. I blew out both tires on the passenger side of the car and I over corrected trying to get the car off the curb and back onto the highway and hit another car in the left lane.

Owned the car less than an hour, it had maybe 50 miles on it and it was in the shop for a month

The things we do when we're young!

FHP (Florid Highway Patrol) was in charge of the accident; the police stopped by where my bf works....apparently no drugs/alcohol...probably just reached down for coffee/purse & boom!
