This is actually hard to answer, as we have none of these in our small town. We would have to drive at least 60 miles one way to get to one.

Years ago when we were able to come and go as we pleased, we were members of Sam's Club, and generally frequented the one in Ocala.

      none of those, but...

small enough family and too far away that gas would eat up savings. BUT, my sis uses COSTCO and my daughter's future inlaws work near Sam's. They will buy things I use often such as walnuts and dried berries, canned salmon, etc, and we settle up when they visit.

I don't use any of them closest one is 90 minutes away. When I lived in Utah in the late 90s I used Food 4 Less. I do most of my grocery shopping today at Wal Mart.

Anytime I need 50 mop heads, 20 gallons of Carrot Juice, and 100 60 watt lightbulbs, I go to Costco, but for great Salmon, Steak, and Veggies, I use Sam's.

I still have my Sams Club Business Membership. We live very close to Sawgrass Mills so Sams is most convenient. Nearly every major store is within a mile of the house, so it's OK. Just no Costco or BJ's. I hear Costco meats are excellent, is that true?

I had Costco for about 14 years but then bought a condo in a different area of town where the nearest Costco was 23 miles away. I recently became a BJ's member (1.5 miles away) and am using it mostly for gas. They really do have the cheapest gas in my area. Yesterday I gassed up at $1.68 and the nearest no-brand was $1.71. I know they have some great deals but quite honestly, I haven't really gone browsing because I know the temptation is too great.

I've never bought anything at Walmart or Sam's Club. Don't intend to do so either. Even when I was counting pennies before, during and after my BK, I'd rather shop the KMart specials or Target than Walmart. For me, it's a matter of principle. I do realize many people are Walmart and Sam's Club fans, and that's fine.

I just ordered my membership from Costco online Friday, so I am trying it out for a year.

I went there today and spent 200$ on different things. I have two very active teenagers that have lots of friends over, plus the sports and cheer activities..so this will work out for me. I can get snacks, juice, Gatorade, party items, etc. there.

                Bobby's Girl - We are a family of 4.

BKParalegal - I get all my fish at either Whole Foods or Trader Joes. And I try to get my veggies at the farmer's market.

                FLBK7 - I don't shop Wal-mart either.

I voted for BJ's. I like Costco for house things but meat, and food I prefer BJ'S. I don't have a Sam's card. I went to visit once and did not like it.

Are we talking about GASOLINE?......at $1.68???? For real?

Gas has just dropped to under $4.00 a gallon for cheap stuff in the last week. $1.68???..................Walks away in disbelief.

I never heard of BJ's. Samsclub is close. But Costco has better selection of stuff I think.

Wow, I must have been daydreaming. Of course I meant $3.68!

We can us it as well but have found that in the end we save nothing! You use twice as much.

I wish we had a Costco around here. I have heard how great they are. We do have a Sams Club and a BJ's. I have a membership at BJ's and love that they take coupons and are nice about it.
Sams does not them at all and Walmart employees scrutinize every coupon and make you feel like they are doing you a favor taking one that they are going to be reimbursed for. Just not worth the stress. Walmart has some good prices on food but the quality lacks. Walmart bread for example. Sure its 60 cents cheaper a loaf than the grocery store but when a person needs to double up their bread because its so thin the condiments seep through then your not really saving money.
