    Hurricane Wilma

Okay...not only wishing I had some valium due to filing a ch.7 in the beginning of the month...now, those of us on the west coast of Florida thought we were done with the hurricanes and now there's Wilman...nice computer models that really don't mean sh*t until about 12 hours prior. I'm just below Tampa bay on an island so there goes my paperwork...lol...

I can feel your pain, we have had more hurricane damgage here in the last 5 years. I hate to turn on the tv.
Last Saturday, we had so much rain had to leave work, I live 7 miles from work and it took over an hour to get home.
Winter is coming, there goes all the money I could have saved doing to filing and then some. Can't seem to break even.
I'll be watching, you may never know when or how, but I'll be there. I am there now....

Gosh Folks, I really "feel" for you all!!!
Can't imagine sitting thru hurricanes every year. How do you handle the stress???
Our occassional tornado is bad enough.....

Batten down the hatches and be safe.....
      We'll be thinking of you!

I guess We just keep our fingers crossed...

I work out on LBK and we have to secure everything prior to an arriving hurricane. This went on last year, every other weekend. We haven't had it too bad this year...In the main office, if it's headed for us, they have to pack up the whole company. Since we have to capability to be flooded by storm surge very similarly to what happened in Louisianna and Mississippi, a near direct hit could flood us from the beaches east 10 miles to highway 41 or the old Tamiami trail...wouldn't be a pretty site. Liquor and drug sales definitely rise during the storm watches...lol!

            Robivi3,

I sure wouldn't blame you a bit moving back to Tenn, or out west......

Gosh, I just can't imagine packing up every other weekend during hurricane season, leaving, wondering what will be there when you go back.

Even more, I can't imagine "riding" one out!!!!!!

Would take a "lot of wind" to blow me over, BUT I CAN'T SWIM.................

Good Luck Folks, hope you weather the storm okay....

No, I won't move out west , Min. Tennessee is my home. Out West is for vacation. Tennessee has alot of advantages, the main disadvantage being higher taxes. But Tennessee is very modern, the people are wonderful in general and I always miss it. You and i will be neighbors and we will meet face to face. I will be just north of Crossville. I do not ever wish to see South Florida again, Pensacola, I definitely want to see again and also the West Coast. My once "boondocks" Sunrise is now City, my quiet "Lake" (manmade of course) behind the house is no longer quiet. All is lost down here. Growing up (TN) I remember the excellent schools I attended, even during the last year when i went to public school for part of the year. I got a water/sewer lot in an excellent area of the plateau, 1900 feet up with a back deck, sidre o' mountain view, slightly less than an acre.

As for hurricane Wilma, Amis. Looks like we amy be in for it. You guys worse than us. It's just enough, like Governor Bush said, why us?

                There goes Cozumel...again

One of the most beautiful little islands where the water is gorgeous, the people are wonderful and they keep getting slammed as well...can't wait to see this storm bounce over to FL...people just don't even know what to think at this point. We're so tired of the weather people terrorizing us with news that changes by the hour. I'm just going to keep focused on what we need to do where I work. Both of my kids have soccer games at 7 tonight and after that, I'm having a long cool drink!

I think Steven King said it best, when he wrote a book and was describing the land a man tilled, like his wife and how he hated it, but he knew it so well, that he couldn't see moving anywhere else.

                      My favorite place!

I've never seen so many storms blow it's way in my short life (43)...first time I went there was at 18 with a friend for a senior get away...last time was back in 1999. Been trying to get there the past year but things just keep getting in the way. Guess I'll just blow up my old photos!

If you live in SoFla, you do tend to go to Cozumel afew times. It isn't to expensive. It's less for me than a gasoline trip cross country with the five of us.

Coz, Chicheniza, Yucatan gorgeous and yes the Mexicans are by nature friendly.
You can get alot of specials from here to there. Kinda' like Disney and others that have Florida resident rates and such.

San Andres Colombia also. Absolutely MAGNIFICENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!

Been there myself, and completely fell in love with the people and the culture, and the island itself. If I wouldn't have had to get back on the ship, I happily would have stayed!
