Genenco, I think that I gather by your post that you are now working 2 jobs to try and catch up on you vehicle loan. Been there doing that (the 2 job part) Can empathize with you. Was not meaning to make light of your situation, I honestly was/am seeing a kinder, gentler side of lightening. I too, I am ashamed to admit that I have blasted to or back at him. Just chant the saying, this to shall pass while you are buring the midnight oil @ the 2nd job, (try and plug at it a little extra if you can to get ahead).

Had to pass this along, I know that there will be a storm brewing when I tell this story, but I am nothing but honest. I too, partially by choice work more than 1 job (a volunteer my time at one), the side job that pays, we are using to catch up and try and get ahead, (if gas would go down & stay down & home heating doesn't kill us) we can get ahead. We have also decided that we also had to see some fruits of the labor from time to time. I had long term borrowed a table and chairs and have been looking at a dining room set. Well, I love "real" wood and have been looking at an Amish made set off/on for 5 years, I finally put it on layaway and ordered and it is paid off!!!!!!!! Waiting for delivery. Next we plan to do some home repairs and put a top over our back deck, will help with heating and cooling expenses etc.
My moral is that while Iknow I need to save, I also need to see the fruits of my labor, hey you can't take it with you.
(lightening, I am grounded, so hit me with your best shot, I can take it)
I'll be watching, you may never know when or how, but I'll be there. I am there now....

hey guys, look I can understand where everyone is coming from. I, myself, had to file bankruptcy from a medical illness. my daughter was born prematurely at 7 month. I had to be off from work d/t early labor 3 month prior to that. My husband was laid off during that time frame. We both at the time had great jobs, large savings account (Lightning- 3 months worth) and great medical insurance (at least I thought). But the worse kept getting worse. My daughter was hospitalized from almost 4 months (3 months in Neonatal ICU where I worked at the time), then she was discharged then admitted again for pneumonia. this went on for approx 1 yr until she was finally diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis (a terminal lung illness) any way to make a long story short. after all the medical expenses where completed and using our credit cards during her hospitalization and after insurance we were still over 200,000 $$$ in debt. No longer had a savings account or anything else, so even the most prepared can and may have a catastrophic illness that can wipe away everything you have worked for. I know it happed to me!! I am a firm believer that I will never have another 5000.00 credit card, that is insane, but for anyone to think they are above the possibility of anything ever happening or "being prepared" for the future, may want to consider never aging or having children or getting sick. These all can cost you your life savings plus.

Well sunshine, I'm sure after someone has received the punishment one gets for "Attitude" they usually do "Change" but, not totally or completly. Still and all, it's funny how some are scared of answering a simple question. But I am not surprised. After all, it's been asked before.

(BTW, I have 10 applications out for "Weekend Work" and have yet to have a single employer (Who has responded) mention anything BUT weekends. Even though their ad read "Part-Time, must be available weekends" )

Brokemama, I can so understand your post. None of us has that magic crystal ball and no matter what a person does, will shield them from the future, good, bad or ugly. I think the best thing one can do, is steal a "Way of life" used by those in dependency rehab. That is "One Day At a Time"

With all the unknown troubles of tomorrow and the regrets of yesterday, we forget to live for today and thus, we lose what chances we may have to enjoy life as we should.

Can understand that, so many people out of work, that employers can be so choosey, with my work, I can be flexible, and I am so far, and am able to teach etc at local Community College on an as needed basis, so I keep days "free" in case.
As for the "attitude" Like I said, I have asked him (i suppose it is a him) numerous questions, I answered his questions. Your questions are the only one I have noticed him really answering. I think many of us hear want to vent and want some empathy no matter if they filed or had been filed against, but jeezz, be human. I don't have anything to hide and don't mind answering questions, most of us here, don't seem to mind either.

AMEN!! I so live like that now. I have learned one thing through all this, then only person I have to answer for my actions is myself. I learned a long time ago to take one day at a time. every day for us is a miracle. my daughter now 7 was never suppose to live this long, but with all the progress they are making we just keep living, day to day. a living for that moment, nothing else.

Job descriptions are trying to get a pool of applicants, (like cc applications) They state the minimum.
                  Good luck!!!!!!!!

I'm done. If I told you to come in out of the rain, you'd tell me rain water is good for the skin. If I told you to stand out in the rain, you'd accuse me of wanting you to catch a cold.

But word for word the exact same thoughts and ideas? It's just strange to me. Even my identical twin and I don't come up with the exact same stuff, though most of our thoughts are quite parallel.

I have noticed that lightening seems to like to step on Genenco's toes. I guess he can't find pick on any one else, Must have been picked on as a child.

I was going back over this post and knew there was a question I wanted to ask in reference to what Lightening wrote about not having personal friends in the lending or credit industry, one could read a couple things into that:
1 - Does he have any friends???
2 - I feel like he is leaving something out.
It is a good thing that job applications or cc card applications aren't judged on personality. You wouldn't have either...........
