Six Hurt in Wash. State Mall Shooting

TACOMA, Wash. - At least six people were hurt after shots were fired inside a Tacoma shopping mall Sunday, and the mall was locked down as police searched for a shooter, authorities said.

It wasn't immediately clear if any of the injured had been shot.

A clerk said she heard three gunshots, and a shopper said he saw a man running through the mall with a gun and firing.

"An individual had just come running through a cross section and I heard some fire so I just told everybody to drop," Dick Waldo told KING-TV. "And then the individual started running toward the other end of the mall."

The mall was locked down, and the shooter was also still believed to be inside, Tacoma Fire Department Deputy Chief John Lendosky told CNN

    Why? Why? Why?

Sad situation - some people really "loose it" during the holidays! They just seem to "snap"........ and want to take it out on everyone else that is happy!!

Although I live in what's supposed to be one of the fastest growing areas of Florida (Sarasota/Bradenton), I see our crime figures escalating as well...it's very scary in town...being that I live at the beach, I hate to leave the island to go into town unless necessary. All the crime seems to revolve around drugs and at this time of the year, it just gets down right crazy.

Well Amis, I know how you feel. My once quiet Sunrise... The other nite (first mistake), my wife, the dog and i took a litlle ride to Publix. I decided to stop for gas up on Pine Island and Hiatus. Pumping away, along come a little car to the pump beside me. The girl gets out to run in and pay while yelling "Mother*****r" to her boyfriend in the car. Uh oh... Comes back out and they start bickering so I begin thinking well, maybe $9.00 is enough. He says something, she steps over the island to me and says "good, if anything happens to me I've got a witness", "you're my witness right". I reply "ma'am please do not involve me in this". The man steps over looks at me and says "did you hear anything?" to which i say "yes, I heard everything you said". He said "are gonna call the cops?" and I replied, "not at this juncture, no". Then he looked over, saw my wife who unbeknowst to me was getting ready to call 911, looked back to me and said "good, cause you love your family". Fortunately the remark blazed over me at the moment and I said Please get back to your side of the pump now" twice, which he did and that ended it. I felt i handled things the best way, stayed out of the squabble but let him know that his threat had been heard, even though I did not hear it (20years behind diesel engines). I just wanted the girl to know someone could back her up if anything did happen.

It solidified my decision to get my concealed weapons permit and to start packing. Several times I have pretended to have a gun and have stopped a crime in both Liberty City and Overtown. This was a white guy though. Back when I was 23 (1983) a nicely dressed white man put a rock into (not through luckily) my windshield on the Julia Tuttle Causeway, I went back to run him down. I thought about it for a second and then let him go and called FHP. Best decision. I'm good for a CWP because I am not rash and an available weapon won't make me rash. Odd, I go all through Liberty City, Overtown, Pequena Vietnam fixing buses and eating in diners at all hours of the night and day and it's always whitey ("my peeps" as it is said) who give me trouble!!!!! It is strange! With black folks I joke around, when a bum wanted to "help" I'd let him hold the flashlight and shoot the breeze but in the suburbs everyone wants to be Billybad*ss!!!! I'm telling you i could give you guys intimate tours of the worst sections of Coconut Grove, Miami, Richmond Hieghts and i can eat at McDonalds at 62street and 7ave. all day long and not get touched (thanks be to God) but out here in the 'burbs... That Mcdonalds is home to the $10,000.00 Big Mac. Foreign tourists come into the Airport and leave to go north on I-95, pull into the parking lot, go in, come out, get robbed but get to keep the Big mac... especially the Germans, they think they are so cool with the hood because they talked to black person in Germany, then they look down the barrel of a 45 and find out they aren't as cool as they thought!!!!

Oh, and by the way, I'm an old Tennessee white guy.

Robovi, Wrote you a lengthy reply and then forgot to hit submit. Anyway, the only important things were the last 2 lines which said...
