    I did it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I finally used "safe mode" and made a registry repair, now i know what safe mode is for. I figured if i can do software on trains (old, OLD, software) I can do it on my home system! I just hated typing command lines and all at home.

Wow, what a feeling. I've built four computers over seven years but always took the easy way out when problems arose, FORMAT C, "ARE YOU SURE? ALL DATA WILL BE LOST", Y ENTER, "ARE YOU REALLY SURE?, DID YOU GET YOUR GRANDMOTHERS PERMISSION?", Y ENTER. "FORMATTING C", Oh no I forgot to copy my freaking registration numbers for whatever essential software i downloaded last week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!. Now with this activation business i don't want Microsoft to think I'm pirating and installing everywhere. Added to that the fact that i've got so much stuff on my system I don't want to lose anything. Yes, I back up but am afraid i'll still lose something. XP is pretty easy. You just go to the MS website and download the articles. Now, if I can get a book of error codes and convert the Hex to binary, which I do in my head at work (only eight bits) I'll be set.

My gosh, this was the highlight of my week, my life is really boring!

    Robivi3,

    CONGRADULATIONS -

Yep, I also encounter the "what if I loose it?" syndrome!!!
    Bugs me to death.....

I've been using pc's since 1984. Learned on OLD DOSS!!!!
Took programing classes, etc. Learned to create my own software programs...... LOVED IT.....

Now days, EVERYTHING is so complicated - it scares me to death. I constantly worry about deleting things or destroying them when I start fooling around on my pc...

Do a lot of experimenting on my old 98 pc but TRY NOTHING on my new BLACK MACHINE!!! Way too much money tied up in it...

Thought about going back to school again to update some more.... still may yet!!!

Can't you see this old grey haired lady sitting in night classes with a bunch of kids!!!!!

Your still young - GO FOR IT...................
