If you never read my first posts, I was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure last year. The medical bills, coupled with late payments due to my being UNABLE to pay because I spent 40 off work and so forth is why I opted for Ch7 BK. Well, I have been converted to 13 of course. And I tried explaining that though I was on the cusp of 7/13 line any further medical would send it over the edge most likely. Well, we will see. Last night I coded out after turning gray and blue before I reached the hospital. Then revived, and stabalized to my Cardiology groups hospital 10 miles away, where they are unsure of what happened, as my heart is stronger, but it could be my meds or electro physical problem. Had another EKG, ECG, emergency room visit, night in the hospital, Ambulance ride and whatever else they tack on for the last 18 hours. I am home now, and go back on Monday for an EP Test where they will try and make my heart go into arythmia to determine if I need a pace maker. Oh yeah, I'm off work again. Guess maybe my plan will have to be ammended before it is ever confirmed at the rate the trustee is going.

AS IF YOU DON'T KNOW - STRESS CAN KILL YOU!!!!
Find a quiet place, breathe deeply and do lots of relaxing....
Along with the medical problem, your meds could also be part of the problem........ are you allergic to things??? If so, meds can be a major medical problem as many are allergic to them also......
Contact your attorney as to your medical condition and the possibility of you having to be off work for an indefinte period of time. Ask him about how this will affect your chapter 13 paymets as you cannot work right now.
Arrange for a medical diagnosis letter from your heart specialist with your prognosis to be sent to your attorney with a copy to the Trustee.
You want to protect your Chapter 13 until you can get it rolled into a Chapter 7 if you can. Do not set yourself up to get it dismissed. Will only create more stress.
Take care of yourself, get lots of rest, try to relax.......
Keep us posted, we'll put in a word upstairs for you....

Yes, stress can kill us and so can the medications! I was having tremors due to anxiety and side effects of a migraine medication. I also could not remember anything, complete a sentence, and kept falling. Then the medication they gave me for the tremors caused me to swell up and my feet and toes turned blue!!
My husband told me I needed to get off some of that s**t and I did! I changed MDs to one who is very down to earth and compassionate. He believes (as I do) that sometimes less is more--meds included. I know that less stress is better! For all of us.
But, I am not a doctor, nor do I play one on TV
Just my opinions. And please change your user name--I'm glad you're still here!Filed: 2/24/2006

The user name came from the fact that I was DOA last year, and just like Tuesday night they brought me back. Nothing macarb, just truth. I doubt they will allow me to re-convert back to a chapter 7 since they 707'd me to a 13 because I am well above median income in my state. It seems that my problem now is either electro-physic or over medication due to my recovery being faster than they thought. It's highly unlikely that I am allergic to any of the meds I was on since I had been taking them since last June. Coreg, Altace, Digoxin, Lasix, Coumadin, and Spironaldactone. They changed one, lowered the dose on another, and eliminated two of them yesterday. I'll know more when they try to make my heart fail Monday doing an EP Test. I appreciate all your thoughts and prayers. Now if I could just get the trustee to understand the reason I want to get this put behind me and my family.

Oh My, DOA!! I am so glad you had such quick response and are still here with us!!
I know well what you are going thru. My brother is in CHF as well.
And how the Court in it's infinite wisdom couldn't take a Chronic medical condition such as CHF into consideration in deciding your Ch is beyond me. It's not simply you have a bad ticker and you live with it or you don't. It's an on going battle to keep the heart and lungs working properly just to keep your body functioning.
My brother has been in and out of the hospital more times than we can count. He'd had lots of mini strokes, not knowing what they were, before he had the big one that left him paralyzed on one side for quite a while. About the only residual effect from that stroke is his gait when he walks now.
He's had angioplasty and quadrupel bypass surgery. When the doctors diagnosed his CHF, he continued to try to work to maintain his health insurance. Still in and out of the hospital on a nearly regular basis, for what Brother calls a "Tune Up". Where they get the fluid off his lungs and from around his heart and get him feeling better. His cardiologist eventually implanted a Pace Maker as well.
Bro just couldn't do it. He couldn't keep working. It was too much for him. The meds would make him groggy. He'd sit down in the break room for lunch and fall asleep. Standing too long on his feet, he got dizzy. The paralysis in one foot caused him to stumble and fall a lot. He was a danger to himself and those around him in the workplace. It took a bit of doing to get on Soc Sec Disability but he was able to retire at the ripe old age of 52.
Hang in there, DOA. Get your attny on the horn. Get the hospitals and doctors to crank out those bills ASAP. And get your Ch 7!!

I'm working on it, as the hospital stay, catheterization, emergency room visit, ambulance ride and all the goodies is going to put me well over my deductible. I'm sure that total before insurance pays will be well over 10k, and I'll be stuck with about 2-3K more in my bill pile on top of the thousands I already have.

If I was in that situation I would let go of all of your material possessions, stop working, stop paying any bills, and get on Social Security Disability (safe from creditors), and downsize to something you can afford on that. Your life and your health should be your priority. What good are material things if you're not alive to enjoy them? This is all causing you too much stress and it's not worth it.Originally posted by DOAIf you never read my first posts, I was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure last year. He couldn't keep working. He found out how much he'd draw on Soc Sec Disability. He and his wife wound up having to move in with their daughter to make ends meet. "They" (whoever they are) got Bro set up on State Aide medical, medicare and medicaide to cover upcoming medical expenses. His doctors made arrangements with drug companies to ship direct to their home at no cost to them for some of his scripts. The doctors keep him supplied out of samples for other drugs.Filed Ch 7 - 09/06
