I will be taking a former roomate to small claims court sometime soon and I am wondering, when I do take her to court, and say if she does not give me the money owing within the time she has to pay, will I need a lawyer to have her wages garnished?
I am not sure if you need a lawyer, but do note that if you indeed win a judgement, that is <exactly> all you have done. Win a judgement. If the defendant does not pay, you get to go to court again and try to grab the cash by garnishing wages (which BTW, is not possible in some states)...or garnishing a savings account or similar......
NOTE: I am not a lawyer...any advice I give is for entertainment purposes only. Legal questions should be directed to competent counsel. I am just a troll. Or a Toad.

Thanks, if she does not pay that is what I would plan to do...garnish her wages. I wasnt sure if I needed a lawyer to do this or pay a small fee. Thanks
