This is why I love this forum. I think we discuss almost everything here. Feels so great to VENT and then look at others' responses and KNOW that WE AREN'T ALONE.
Robivi- this should make you feel better, my gross salary isn't $2600 a month. I do have a SLIGHT ability to have a small amount of overtime, if the the planets align themselves correctly around the sun & moon. Do have the ability to bring home up to $80 a month by working 10 nights a month (shift). Short of that nothing. With gas prices like they are, I won't be doing much part time teaching either because of enrollment and on-line classes. The college is concerned that they may have to let go some full time instructors... Stress, Stress, Stress. I try and do my part to stick to a budget, the bills & groceries, gas, etc. just aren't doing theirs.
HEY, I have a great idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If someone can sue the fast food places because their coffee was hot, they got fat, OR suing tobacco companies because they got lung cancer, WE SHOULD GET TOGETHER & HIRE THE BEST AMBULANCE CHASER & SUE THE OIL COMPANIES. They are bragging record profits, right, that should be against the law. NEXT, we can take the matter overseas & sue all oil bearing countries for price gouging too. WHAT DO YOU THINK?????
I'll be watching, you may never know when or how, but I'll be there. I am there now....

sunshine - that is why I love this forum too. We are all about a lot more than BK filers - we are human beings with day to day issues with kids and jobs and money just like everyone else. To me it kind of puts a human face on our posts when we discuss something other than BK. My youngest son(16) is a blessing but my nerves are shot most of the time worrying about him. It is truly hard to be a parent at all much less these days with his generation. All we can do is our very best and hope that some of what we taught them rubs off. After all being a parent doesnt come with a handbook. We have made mistakes too and so we all learn from them. I think the advice of telling your kids what they do right is a good idea too. We are so busy trying to make them tow the line we forget to remind them sometimes about the good things they do and how much they mean to us. Sorry to be sappy but the story about the good kids being killed reminds me of a really nice young man who attended my son's school who was recently killed in a car accident. He was so well liked at the school and a really good athlete. He had a fight with his girlfriend and a little beer to top it off and ended up taking the curve too fast and was killed. The entire school was devastated. My son was totally stunned as was I. The school has set up a scholarship in this young man's name. It is still so hard to believe. I can't imagine the pain the parents are going through except that I lost a brother to a drunk driver - he was 24 and had just come back from Vietnam. Maybe that is another reason why I have to calm myself down when my son drives off in his truck. I realize I cannot be with him 24/7; I am hoping, however, his guardian angel is.
