    Encouragment

    Hello
Please understand that my wife and I are up against the wall just like most people here. The encouragement I have read here has helped me to know that I'm not alone in my situation.
The many heart breaks and strees of going thru financial hard times is incredible.

ONe thing I know is that You and your family and friends are what's important.
So long as we have our health and the ability to love and lift up people we are winners.

I'm never ever going to give up. I'll never give into stinking thinking,my attitude and belief systems in myself and my wife have to be strong.

I've been self employed most of my life and with 911 and the economy upside down my finances are just about gone.
I had a jewelry store for the last seven years and still have some customers
but not enough to really make a difference so I'm looking at Chapt.7.

I know we all have different needs and most are great at this time but
we need to encourage each other.

So long as we have our spirit we have a chance to change our world.

Keep your health and your spirit strong, think positive thoughts and solutions to situations.

Acknowledge what you feel as stress and or fear, that's all it is.!
    Call it what it is!
    Don't let it overtake you!!!

Take that energy and channel it where it will make a difference in your life.

If it's to be it's up to me.

    Good luck and live strong.
    Hope this helps
    Roc.

rock...you have a great attitude...it is so important when you are considering and/or going through filing BK. You are exactly right in that it is not a terminal condition and you will get through it with the love and support of your family and friends. It is not easy and there are times when you think it may be futile but keep the faith and dont give up. Most of us have been through it and we are obviously survivors and you will be too. I have to say after it was all said and done it was a tremendous relief. No things are not perfect but we are on our way back financially and otherwise. There is a lot of good information and support on this forum. I can tell you with absolute certainty I could not have made it without this forum...it was truly my lifeline. Dont be embarrassed to ask questions and post what is going on with your situation. We are not here to judge you; we are here to support you. Good luck!

well I guess everyone has a story and ours isnt awhole lot different. We are in debt big time..over 30,000. The one thing that scares me is garnishment. We went through that years ago..about 17 years ago. Back in those days the IRS thats who we owed took everything I made..except for 75 dollars for me and 25 for my wife. We had a total of 100.00 a week. That was just me and the mrs. now we have a family..and I am a bit concerned. When they say a creditor can garnish you wages 25% of pay is that per creditor? surely not!

My situation is that I have been in a repayment program for some of my cards.
We were barely scrimping by..I mean barely. Then we had medical bills and car repairs..this month I couldnt pay anyone..anyone out here ever declare BK in Maryland? Any pointers would be appreciated and thanks for hearing me out.

I have a good paying job..but it costs so much to live here..and that job wont last long with where i work they fire people if you show money problems....any way I guess I need a shoulder to cry on.

You need to sit down with your income and expenses and do a profile to see where you stand.......... and then look for options you can use.....
Maybe just a good budget will solve the problem... but doesn't sound like it.....
Contact at least 3 attorneys and see what options are open to you regarding what you own, owe, etc.... the consultations are free....

Doing nothing will not change the problem...... tackling the problem, finding options available and then deciding what you need to do to solve the problem. Continuing ignoring the problem will only create added stress and financial strain in your lives.....

Filing bankruptcy may be the "last resort" for you.....

Tell us a few things about your situation, your income, assets, etc and see if we can help you in the decision process or at least put you on the right path to help solve the problems for you....

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.

This is not an easy process. Last year I was so depressed and all I wanted to do was pull the cover over my head and disappear. It was too much. I am taking life one day at a time and trying just to do the next right thing. Our 13 is going pretty well right now, but I have to start disputing things on my credit report and that is not going to be fun. I just have to plunge in and do it!

Exercise is helping with my stress level. I take a short walk every night and am building my strength back up. Last summer I could barely walk to the end of my street and I am way too young to be like that. I have a chronic illness that is very painful at times, but I refuse to give into it.

This forum is awesome. Yes, we have some "characters" here, but they make life interesting for us.
