    Alberto Quenches Florida's drought!

Now, of course, first I'm b*tching about the heat down south here (only lived here since '91...lol!)and since I've decided to move "off the island" Murphy's law being what it is...I start my move during a tropical storm...what else is new?

We couldn't get the sofa through the doorway of the new apartment...typical...it's going to have to be airlifed over the balcony...actually probably two guys on bottom & two guys on the balcony could handle it...we only had to move out down three flights of stairs yesterday & up one to discover this...did get all the entertainment pieces through the door and the sleepy chair...now just kitchen table/chairs, bed & sofa....

there's no mold so we're pretty excited about that & we are on 2nd floor so that we don't experience the flooding that occurs on the ground floor during heavy tropical storms & hurricanes...we will be able to just drop the kayak over the balcony & paddle away...

Of course, the rain was extremely heavy about 6:30 this morning when I decided to set out to return the videos in town to Blockbuster, by the new apt. as well as stop by apt. to find clothes as we're basically between two places now...

Thank god for 8 hours of normalicy at work!

It's still pretty dark out here on LBK and rain seems to be taking a break...but man do we really need this water!!!

Its a catch 22 for all you folks........ You need the rain, yet you don't want to be flooded out again.....

Don't evny you moving......... THATS A JOB IN ITSELF...... be thankful if you have any help..............

Ky is usually a pretty good climate, though does get real hot in August..... WELL the other day it was 91 degrees out side, 76% humidity (I melted).... and then the severe thunderstorms started.....(cold air from the North colliding with the cool air from the South)..... A ROCK AND ROLL NITE!!!!

I lived in South Georgia for 10 years where you could fry eggs on the sidewalk (sunbelt)...... but it wasn't half as hot & humid as it was here in Ky the other day......

Take all that heat and humidity and mix it with sinusitus and asthmatic bronchitas and it's TIME TO DIG MY HOLE.............. Bad week.....

Rain would be a blessing right now around here..... take all the pollen out of the air.....

Can't live where there is mold....... would kill me within a few weeks...... don't see how you can handle that!!!

Glad to hear that Alberto just rained on your parade and didn't blow you away.....

I sure hate to hear that....... no end too it down there.....

Soon people in Fla will no longer be able to get insurance of anykind if it keeps going..... or if they can, they can't afford the premiums.....

        I'd sure have to move................

Hang in there and stay safe.......... let us hear back from you and let us know your alright.......

As usual, all the reports tend to conflict a bit

But the strike zone is between Longboat Key & the big bend up north of Tampa.....I've been waiting for the 1 pm update on the national hurricane site but it's not up yet...you can always check baynews9.com...that's totally Tampa Bay information....

Got to pack up my office on the beach & then go home & pack more boxes and take to my new place...got my 24 bottles of water & peanut butter/bread & tuna....we'll handle it...AMI is at it's highest, only 7 ft. above sea level....if that tells you any thing...

And I just talked to my idiot oldest son. He is on Amelia Island ( just above Jax) visiting his grandma. He is planning to drive to Orlando tomorrow to spend some time with his uncle. He has always said he wanted to be in a hurricane, Katrina blowing out our power last year for 6 hours wasn't enough for him< insert exasperated sigh here>.

He could meet my three kids who rode out Andrew, they HATE hurricanes and want to leave each time. To anyone who has lived one or several, it is no fun to nearly die. It is a horror to live through a real one, no fun involved whatsoever. i can't even fathom it, but i was a kid to... so... understood.

One POST H/CANE day with no home, I was in a real ice riot also, cops, running, screaming and weapons from the crowd and the sellers. One day of lawlessness would cure his silly desire forever. People were killed in Andrew post Hcane and nothing was said. Had to keep a constant fire in the tiny hibach for weeks just for ewater even to bathe with... NO SHOWER... to heel with "fun" hcanes, they don't exist.

Alberto's staying on course for the big bend area

We have a lot of water on AMI and LBK but nothing serious...this was our trial run....

Going to do unit checks this morning to see what's leaking!

God bless everyone in the path of this storm though, the path ahead does not look good.
