    help!

Short and sweet. I rented a storage unit a year ago while in the proccess of moving. After the move I rented a second unit with my current (new address) and informed them to change the address on the other.
I was deliqent in payment (yes my fault), I sent in a catch-up payment and found that everything in "both units" was auctioned. I never recieved any communication or cetified letters, nothing. They said that they sent a certified letter fo rboth units to the "old address". Remember one had the current address and they were to change the other. On top of that, they cashed the check I sent two weeks before they auctioned off everything.
This was the final straw for my wife and it has lead to our devorce.

Any comments on this? I would be greatfull

Usually, it takes a couple of months before they auction off your stuff, I would think...did you put in a change of address for your old address in order to have your mail forwarded?

How many months/much did you owe & why didn't you call them to let them know you were having a problem with your payment?

Unfortunately my comment for the moment is OUCH!

Seems like there should be some kind of legal remedy for you, but I don't know what the appropriate steps would be. How much did they make in the auction and how much were you behind in payments? At the very least, I'd think they would owe you some money.
