HOT IS NOT THE WORD............ STEAMY IS!!!!!

Ky is unusually warm today............... 91 degrees and heat index of 96....

Even "the girls" are hugging the vents in the floor looking for a cool spot......

Even sunny South Georgia was not this bad in the summer time.............

I THINK I'M MELTING!!!!

...but this heat is all due to global warming....I did read something on aol earlier about today being the hottest in 400 years...anybody else?

I'm so happy we're having a totally overcast day here (very rare in a state that gets 300+ days of sunshine a year). We're all hoping for rain.

I read the same news. It is wicked hot here and HUMID which I hate! I'm doing my rain dance, too.

well I knew my heat-hating body lived in Oregon for a reason, I dont know how all of you STAND IT, and humidity nonetheless. It is a pleasant 79 here and thats just fine with me!!!!

I'm in East TN, and it was over 100 today with the heat index. I thought I was going to have my first asthma attack in years because today, of all days, the fan in my car decided to stop working right so effective a/c is a challenge.

Ditto on the asthma attacks.......... hot, humid weather is the worse thing on them and then throw in somebody cutting hay and its a double whammy....

Talk about cough, cough, choke, choke..........................

And the A/C units are working hard and still don't help much...........

NEXT - HUGE ELECTRIC BILLS...................... and summer has just started............

A/C doesn't shut off... utility bills, OUCH

Here around Chicago the Lake Michigan breezes sometime will kick in to sweep the hot air further inland and give us a little relief, but when breeze dies down heat/humidity will come back in with a vengeance. The last hot spell I noticed the A/C kept running and running one night, and got up to find one of the girls had opened a window on the opposite side of the living room from the thermostat. So hot, humid air kept getting sucked into that area, even when the rest of the place got cooler, and cooler.

The funny part of the situation is the next am when talking to the girls and asking them to keep the windows closed so Mom doesn't have to spend $$$ that is not there: They both thought since I am on the payment plan with the utility to average my bills out over the year, I would never have to pay for the extra electricity use! No clue that every 6 months the amount gets readjusted to the new average! They have finally figured out that just because you flash plastic at the mall, the clothes are not REALLY free....now they also know what those meters hidden behind the bush next to the house are for! And these two are honor roll students, almost full ride college scholarship gals. Just need some day to day living smarts. In a sense, my BK may be the best thing to happen to them for their financial education. No longer pampered suburban princesses....

Sorry! Just checked my picture file on this computer, and about all I could find in the single male category is an almost 70 year old friend (he IS rich, though..) posing under the Augusta National sign last year, my 3 year old great-nephew in his mini-Nascar peddle car, and assorted pix of males (marital status unknown) in hospital settings exhibiting various nutritional deficiencies...Not what you had in mind????? They all are shirtless, by the way, LOL.

Can I move in with you for the summer???? Found out at 11:00 last night that there is a condensation leak in our A/C--YEA!! It is a top of the line unit (my brother is in that business) but nothing can completely cool down somewhere that's hotter than h##l!!

Hopefully I can get it fixed today! Still waiting on the repair man to call!

I think I'll keep the husband I have, but if there is ever a next one, he will be really old and rich--one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel!! (Just kidding!!)

Think the heat is frying my brain cells!!! I'm going to get some iced tea!
