Well, after about 15 months of rangling and reading up on negative ions and such i took the dive and bought two units (Oreck air purifiers).
I suffered pneumonia about 10 years ago. I lost my hearing for three months due to ear infections and had a 105 fever at the time. About two or three months after BK in '04 I started looking into something to help my breathing. We looked into several types of purifiers and after watching the infomercial on this unit about a year ago i kind of solidified on this unit but did not wish to shell out. Finally did it.
I already knew about the negative ion issue when i started looking into why every time I go up in the mountains in Tennessee I sleep less, am more active and feel so different. I knew it was not a "stress" issue because I only go a week at a time but my breathing improves a billion percent, don't get me wrong i am not a wheezer but have had lots of minor difficulties since pneumonia. My bout was horrible and I nearly died because of my former Doctor not diagnosing me soon enough. I also contracted acute bronchitis shortly thereafter while refinishing floors and that was such a close call that I wear dust masks anytime I work in a dusty area.
Anyone have anything to say about the Oreck Units here? I've read pos and neg, but mostly very positive stuff.
I would probably attribute very recent difficulties to dogs. I will not get rid of them, we are to close to them and they are part of the family. Also, the environment where we live is very dusty. Claritin, tried it, OUT of the question.
