    Dogs at the Vet

Had both Dogs at the vet yesterday, we do that Banfield pay monthly deal, it may or may not come out slightly more expensive (15.95 per month per dog) but you get discounts for the medication (standard stuff we get from 1800petmeds.com) but if you have an emergency visit it is included and you don't get slapped for a big bill for shots and all. Wait times are not the greatest but OK.

Odd, how attached both dogs have gotten in a little over one month, when they took the bigger dog out to the lab Princess got really upset and started crying and straining for the door, same thing when they had "the happy's" and knew it was all over and he was being walked around Petsmart. She couldn't stand him at first. Funny, now the two are inseperable.

Wish we had that program here..............

Minny hurt herself somehow, running and jumping, climbing...????? Hurt her left hind leg at hip and knee.....

After vet visit, (lab, x-rays, etc) Vet said she pulled ligaments and "blowed out a knee"......

Is on meds and pain killers.....

Hopefully will heal without surgery..... I pray...

      That bill alone was $225.00.................

A plan like your talking about would be beneficial at my house for sure......

Yep, its amazing how they miss each other when one is gone for a while.....

They generally have clinics inside Petsmart. You pay a $60.00 one time fee and ten the Primary plan is 15.95 per month. It covers all shots, worming, heartworm and emergency visits are free plus i believe a 20% discount on medication. We have had princess with them for four years with no problems of any kind. The clinic I go to is clean.

Min, if you could move my job and the Train system I'd trade anyday!. I love my work, very much. The rest of the place you can have! My dad thought Kentucky was as beautiful as Tennessee, you have no idead what a complement that was from him. He regarded Alabama, North Florida and Georgia "Red neck cracker states" and every act of terror or vandalism was committed by an Alabama "red neck". He left Mississippi kindly divorced from this opinion because it was his mothers Birth place. For a Southerner who almost through me out of the house for insinuating that Sherman was a great General he sure could have some bad opinions of his fellow southerners!

Do the Pet meds through 1800petmeds.com, they call Banfield to confirm the prescription. Most Vets sort of pressure you to buy the Meds from them. Saves afew $$$$$, but make sure because Advantix is high and you may save with them, I use Frontline, it's cheaper but you may prefer Advantix.

Remember we are "toy trains", electric rail. They de-rail just as nasty though, God Forbid. Electric Train work is VERY clean, spent to much time (19.5 years) with hands immersed in diesel and grunge. For the last three years my hands have been clean, the diesel smell that oozed from the pores even after 45 minute showers is gone and my wife says my happiness level is way up. The biggest danger we face is the 700 volts at so many amps. I still say house voltage is the most dangerous, 700 throws you away, burns you bad, refridgerators grab you and hold you, power lines, well they kill. I joined the "700 club" one day several years ago while grabbing a live power cord leaving me with a tiny hole in my skin and causing me to utter the immortal words, "gee, guess I'll never do that again!"

                    Don't laugh Robivi3,

BUT I DON'T HAVE FLEAS ANYWHERE AT MY HOUSE............. OR TICKS!!!

                    SERIOUSLY.......

My dogs are bathed at least once a month, the yard and house is sprayed monthly, and I have found approx 5 fleas and maybe 5 ticks in the 10 years I have lived here...........

Have never used flea collars on any dog I ever had.... or Frontline.....

Strangely enough I live next to a cow pasture..... and no varmints......

I must do something exactly right every year to kill them off and keep them killed off.... I literally soak the ground!! Especially around fence, etc.....

When I say "my dogs don't have fleas/ticks," it's true....... and amazes friends of mine who do have pets..... with fleas and ticks... (but they don't spray their yards either)....

I use diazion (can't spell) on the yard..... and baby shampoo on the dogs......

Johnson & Johnson Girls!!! No tears, no bad hair days!!!

I used to have to watch for fleas and ticks growing up in the northeast. Here in Colorado, as long as you stay out of the woods (which I live nowhere near), I don't even need a flea collar. It's warm and dry here.

Love Diazinon, they outlawed it down here, it is the best, kills pest well. Kind of like when they (the UN) forced the third world to stop using DDT so instead of one in a hundred thousand dying of cancer they began losing 5000 in a hundred thousand to the mosquitos and pests that it was killing, thanks Rachel Carson, we owe you so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                          Anon,

I own a little five acre plot out there. I hear the Army is gobbling up land near Las Animas to expand a Training Range. You know, the Army, protecting and defending the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic, paying people for land, but siezing it nonetheless. Does anyone really take an oath seriously anymore? In Australia the military was given the OK by law to use any force they deem necessary to quell Civil disobedience. Hmmm, European based society really has slid downhill, guess when we delete the Book of Moral Standards we just invent our own as we go.
