Well, there I am in Lake Tansi Tennessee. I get a call from a friend at work. Fidel is dead, "does the rest of the Country care" he asks? "No" I say, "we have heard nothing". A couple of my Cuban buddies get on the phone yapping and laughing about how i can come back because tomorrow everyone will be heading back to Cuba (they were laughing about the absurdity of such a notion). I turn on the news and they have made "celebration zones" in Maimi, imagine that in the real USA. Now, I am back, Fidel is fine, wha' hoppen?

Is he dead? Or is it just wishful thinking on some peoples part?
Heard he was in really bad health, transferred power to his brother, etc. But nothing on the news or wires that he died......

The word in Miami was that he was dead. They took it as fact and went to the streets to celebrate. welcome to our banana republic. the place is a joke to the rest of the Country."You once asked me for advice. You want some now? Never pass up a good thing." Lieutenant Jean Rasczak, Starship Troopers
