    Japanese cars

While I will stick with American trucks, my E350 was made in Dearborn and my GMC in Canada, our 51st State, I will NEVER buy another American made car. I drove a Toyota Avalon in Tennessee. V6, got 26.8 mpg highway and that thing sung through the tiny mountain roads! They have me hook, line and sinker! Period, I won't even consider a Buick or Crown Vic. Toyota is my car maker of choice!

Toyota Avalon, Lexus without the emblem

I have a Toyota Avalon, 2001. Car had water on floorboards from flood, salvage title, 53,000 miles. I bought it last year, it is like a Mercedes in quality. I really feel spoiled driving it is so superior to American cars. My dad got it at some sale and paid $6,600 last fall.

If they were up front about the title and you are happy with it then you likely did well. 6600 isn't much to pay for an Avalon, I am hooked. As you can see I am rather tall and this car was great. I have always laid Toyota out of the running because of the superior quality when comparing cars. I am used to Century's and Crown Vics just by habit, no more, I won't even take an American car on Rental. The E350 gets 9.5-10.2 in the City, on the trip I was doing steady 75 mph @ 16.1 (highest) and 14.9 (lowest), I will fly next time and rent a vehicle in Nashville, next time I need a week to scope out work options.

An E350 is a heavy duty truck. Japanese automakers don't make heavy duty trucks.

Some of the newer american sedans are getting very high marks. Mercury, Buick & Cadillac finished out the top 4 spots after #1 Lexus in JD power & associates latest quality survey. Toyota may offer the "9 cars over 30 highway mpg".... Guess what, so does GM.

          As a 4Runner driver since 1997...

...I do love the japanese cars.

My boyfriend cleaned off my battery last night and lo and behold...it is starting without clicking or dieing...maybe it was the all the corrosion from the gulf...??? I just couldn't imagine having a bad 4runner...

I've had the Mitsubishi Starion '89 & loved it, really want another one but they're so hard to find.

Honda Passport '98 & loved it.

They just hold up all around better...I've driven the 2000 4runner since 2003 and put nothing into it except for the throttle positioning sensor ($100 total w/labor). Not bad at all, my teeth are more expensive on the upkeep than the car.

Okay guys !!! Now here's one thread I DO know about!!!!
            LOL!!
My husband and I bought american until we bought our 4th and it TOO was a lemon....we could never get past 1-2 yrs of a NEW car when it started to go BUNK~ and I BABY my vehicle....they are a piece of JUNK....SOOOO...
we decided to try a Toyota~ LOVED IT!!!!!! then when we bought a second we bought a HONDA~ LOVED IT!!!! then I bought a VW in 02.....it was okay but NOTHING like the toyota's and honda's...now we both have Nissan's...they are great cars too, but I am wondering if they will be as solid as the toyota/honda .....
I guess I will get to find out as this is the end of my fancy of new cars...gonna have to keep these for good....I NEVER HAD ANY TROUBLE WITH EITHER HONDA OR TOYOTA'S LOVE THEM~ they are solid...
I had a client that would trash me for buying foreign....until one day I showed him an article that told you where all cars were actually made/assembled/parts/ etc.....MY Japanese car was at least ASSEMBLED IN OHIO...hahahaha~ the american cars were parts from Mexico and assembled in Canada or other places....I said ...well hell, at least MINE employed AMERICAN WORKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! he NEVER said another word about it to me again!!!!!!!!! I have an Altima SL now, and I really like it ~ so we'll see....it's gets pretty good gas mileage, the Titan truck is a gulper.....but it's such a good truck.... we were gonna sell it, but were advised NOT TO....and we have an OLD Honda Del Sol that he mostly drives, and it just keeps on tickin' it's got like 145000 miles on it...hasn't pooped out yet!! My daughter has a Toyota~ she loves it!!!! They are just really GREAT cars~ never have to do anything to them except change the oil and occassionally the filter...but that's it!!!!!!!! Glad to hear some others too love these great cars...they are worth every dime~ and they usually are cheaper COST and COST ONLY..the quality exceeds any american car out there........sorry but it's the truth!!!!!!!!! I have converted SO many clients to them and EVERY single one is as happy as I am!!!!!! I LOVE this country, but there is something wrong when our car companies won't and refuse to build a QUALITY RUNNING CAR....give it up already~ I don't have sorry feelings for them at all, that they are hurting...there simply is NO excuse for the shoddy build american cars....it's a joke~ anyway...got to say my piece...thanks!!!!!!!!!!
