3 days to go and I am FREAKING OUT.

The DJ canceled on me this morning!!!!

I got an email from my uncle saying "sorry, but work had to fly me to San Jose this week. We can't do your wedding."

All this, after he promised me he was on vacation this week and weekend!

(my aunt and uncle were providing the DJ service!)

On top of that, my hairdresser backed out on Saturday, that was replaced, but it still made me mad.

My one bridesmaid is tripping out. She seems to think that her only job is to show up on Saturday and be pretty. I want to strangle her.

PLEASE pray that I don't kill anyone in the next 72 hours! I am absolutely miffed, pissed, hurt and freaking out!
BUSY running my own credit repair services! Sorry I don't stop in so often any more!

    Tin,

I am SO sorry!!! Is there anyone else that might could do the music? Perhaps an older high school student that's a music buff or college music major? What are the arrangements for your hair? I know you will look beautiful! And for the bridesmaid--I don't know why some "adults" insist on acting like two-year-olds.

Will pray that you don't kill anyone and that you have a blessed and beautiful day!

    Peace,
    jane

      Try to stay calm....

....I know that's easier said than done...as a friend of mine says, one castrophe at a time...easiest ones first. Wishing you the best!

May I ask a question? I'm not familiar with traditional wedding etiquette. What exactly is the job of a bridesmaid?

PLEASE remember no matter what does or doesn't happen it's not about other people or stuff that did or didn't happen.

I got married in front of a judge & news reporter. It doesn't matter I didn't get to wear my dress(that I bought 2 weeks before) it didn't matter that I cut my cake at McDonalds, it didn't matter that my husband was in BDU's. What mattered was that we were married.

Yea, you want your day to be a princess but if everything falls apart it doesn't matter, what matters is your commitment to your spouse.

Great pictures, JeepMom!! I will be celebrating my 18th wedding anniversary this weekend. Unfortunately, my hubby is still under the weather after several complications after his surgery, but we will be together! Will probably fix a nice dinner for him and watch a bunch of football!

Tin, I can't wait to see your pictures. I know everything will be beautiful. What colors are you using, flowers, etc.? I LOVE weddings!!

Everything the bride needs. I have been a bridesmaids quite a few times and I have taken a gazillion pictures while everyone gets ready and all the litte things that make up a wedding. We hold the dress up so the bride can pee. We offer safety pins so the dresses stay up or duct tape in unmentionable places A bridesmaid makes sure it goes easy for the bride and the bridesmaids get to put their hair up and wear a pretty dress and drink LOTS of champagne. *sighs****** I love being a bridesmaid.

Best of luck Tin. I will be thinking of you and hoping all goes well. Can't wait to see some pictures.

                    Several things.
                    Putting programs together,
putting gift bags and thank you gifts together. being there when I freak out. Making sure that everything is in order for the big day (ie. little details...)
                    Basically a helper.

Everyone, I am trying to stay calm.
Thanks for the wishes, and I am holding my breath. When it's all said and done, I will be married to the man of my dreams, and that's all that matters, right?

I was gonna suggest the same thing as Jane but she beat me to it.

The Kids' old High School, Football Homecoming Dance. Something happened with the DJ the school had hired for the dance. The DJ called the school the day before that he couldn't do the job.

One of the kids, a Senior, stepped up and did a fantastic job. He played a great mix of music, threw in requests from the crowd. Had his own personal killer sound system. Even the Teachers commented what a GREAT job he did.

Maybe there's someone in your Circle or a friend of a friend who can do the same for you. Might give someone an opportunity to make both your day and theirs!

Keep in mind, your day isn't about the Freaky Bridesmaid who's lost her mind, or the DJ that doesn't show, or a different person doing your hair,.........

It's about you and your intended. Keep that as the focus, the center of your attention, and your day will be lovely.

Silly as it sounds, call local phraternity houses. Although it is "rush season" so who knows. BUT almost every house has a DJ that is always looking for cash.

Jeep mom is right. Every frat house knows some dj looking for cash. Now, Tin, please....slow down.....take some breaths. This will pass. There may be some small catastrophies along the way that day. You will survive it, although from what you have written, your mil may not survive it!! Just enjoy your new husband and who cares about the rest. Everyone will get over it, and a few years from now, all will be forgotten.
