Entirely selfish question about the government shut down and my divorce

I have been waiting over a month for a judge to sign off on my simple uncontested divorce papers.
Could the government shutdown be delaying this process?
There are no notices on the court website of any cancellations, no mention of the shutdown.
Its a small county courthouse in Virginia.
I had actually emailed the court clerk before the shutdown, and he said it was ready, just waiting for judges signature, so I hate to bother him again.
I was really hoping to have it finalized in 2018 so that I could put single on my taxes and student loan payment plan, and with my bankruptcy having been completed in November, I wanted the bad year behind me!

Divorces are handled at the state / county level so the shut down would have no impact on your case. You could always try emailing them again though. Best of luck.

No experience with divorce, but I can't imagine that your divorce would be affected by the shutdown unless your divorce involve you or your about to be ex-spouse needing a document from a federal agency that is shutdown.
Filed Ch 13 November 2013, discharged March 2019
