    It's always something

My husband thinks we are the only people that have "bad" things happen. It's getting old with me because stuff happens and he starts to talk how this kind of thing never happens to other people. Sorry the tree fell the garage and there's no serious damage. My co-worker had a tree fall on...

I really should have downloaded the documents to my computer to read anytime! Live and learn. I looked at only a few and one had "unsecured principal" and no interest or fees, that was NTB through Citibank I looked at 3 others and they had the interest and fees added on. I don't want to...

When I opened the document prepared by the creditor they all list the amount owed, interest and fees. But in the area where it lists the amount claimed some creditors list just the amount owed, others listed the total amount. I can double check later, but that is what I thought I read yesterday. I...

    Reading PACER

I finally went on the PACER website, I signed up months ago, maybe even a year ago and never had the courage to read it.

I probably spent a bit of money looking through documents, but that's ok. It's a lot because I had so many credit cards. I never actually counted them and near the...

  • Sophieanne when you said "total debt owed" did you mean the amount of the claims filed not the amount we listed in the bankruptcy document as owed? Will Pacer it show the same info as the NDC website? Or does NDC only show who is being paid. I haven't looked at PACER. I signed up, but was...

  • Just a question. I have trouble figuring out who filed because all my cards when to collection so I am not sure which collection is with which credit card. Is there a way to tell how much (money) was claimed vs the total amount you are paying? I do have info that certain credit cards did not file,...

  • I think you should see a different attorney. We were told we didn't qualify for Chapter 13 and recently I looked back at that attorney/the one we didn't use website which has been updated and he has income guidelines for 7, 13 and debt consolidation. Now I see he automatically put us into the debt...

Stacer, I don't know how much they will allow for the kids activities. You will have a family of 4 so I believe you have more leeway in the amount over all than my husband and I did since they looked at us as a family of 2 even though we were supporting our young adult daughter who did not work the...

I have no opinion on my trustee. I wasn't thrilled when she wanted more money, but I didn't hold it against her. I haven't really had any interactions with her except when we had the 341 At least think that was who we met with? I think it's the feeling like getting called to the principal's office...

  • Des with all due respect, have you ever dealt with Ally over the phone? I did prior to bankruptcy and they had very bad customer service. When I called to find out how to pay Ally I got a big run around from them my call was passed to a few people since no one knew the answer. I was into the grace...

Stacer I can totally relate to how you are feeling. I was in the same place. Find a good attorney who does a lot bankruptcy in the area where you will file. See more than one person and chose one you feel will be best. If you have bad gut feeling about an attorney don't use them.

    We had...

  • Go to the Ally Auto, you can use this link. Scroll down a little on the left hand side you will see an icon of car keys it says Debit Card payment. You can click on that and it takes you to a third party and you can pay with a Debit card. There is a charge, $3.85 or something close to that amount....

  • Prouddaddy BK can be your fresh start it's not easy, but it's a heck of a lot less stressful than dealing with the credit card debt.

I was in a similar situation where almost all our money was going to bills and we were charging for groceries, etc. I would make a payment on the credit...

  • I'm sorry your attorneys are such duds. Hang in there once your are confirmed you won't have to deal with them very often. Reminds me of the first attorney we went to who wanted us to do debt consolidation/said we didn't qualify for BK. In his debt consolidation plan you had to pay him, you paid...
