Did you explain the scenario to the attorney so she knew why you were asking about taking a part time job?

Are you able to compare the budget you made with the bankruptcy and compare it to the real life budget you are using? Maybe you can see where the error was made and talk to the attorney...

  • kmcoleman, you work in law. You know what they say a little knowledge is dangerous. I work in health care so I know when I hear about symptoms, etc too much google can make way too much stress.

I really didn't know anything when we filed. I didn't even know there was a chance creditors...

  • Can you call the company that has your loans and ask them? I would start with the federal loan and ask what the process is.

  • I don't read PACER, I signed up and then chickened out after reading on here that it can be stressful LOL!
We didn't have anyone show up at the 341 meeting. Our mortgage company through our bank has an attorney that handles all communications with us. Like our payment is being adjusted due to...

No, we do not expect to go through bankruptcy and there is a stigma attached to it. I don't think it ruins your life. Yes, you will have to deal without credit and with bad credit rating for a while. I feel like that is the price I have to pay. I don't know your age, but if you are under 50 I think...

Many of us on this site totally understand how overwhelming it is. You said you have three meetings, are those with attorneys? Talk to several attorneys and find the someone who has a lot of experience in your area, one who knows a lot about bankruptcy and knows the local court system and someone...

    Ollo Mastercard

My husband and I both got offers for the Ollo Matercard. Does anyone have this card and what do you think of it?

Interest is high 27.99% . No other extra charges--no annual fee, no fee for paper bills, etc. It is unsecured. Interest would be at least $1.50 if there is a balance.

I would let the attorney know ASAP if you were sick without pay and he would tell you how to handle that situation.

I would think you would have enough money if it's the day to day expenses not anything out of the ordinary, unless you have a job where sometimes you have more or less....

    replied to 341 meeting tomorrow....FINALLY
It's late you might not see this until after the fact. What surprised me was HOW MANY people were in the waiting area for bankruptcy and that the courthouse had a whole floor devoted to bankruptcy. When we were called into the conference room didn't bother me other people were in the room, I really...

I get paid every other week, that's 26 paychecks per year the payments were calculated based on that, not on a 52 week year. I didn't realize it was mandatory, I never asked just did what we were told! I like it being deducted because you don't have to think about it, you just make your budget over...

replied to Chapter 7 with Over The Median income
Can you find an experienced law firm in your county? Or an attorney with a lot of experience? Did you actually see what the Chapter 13 plan would be and what your payments would be? Or did you just get the recommendation to go with Chapter 13? Our biggest obstacle with Chapter 13 is not having savings...

The stress is a struggle for all of us as we go through this process. When will you see your attorney? Right now I think it's good to write a list of questions so when you see the attorney you can ask him. Don't look up a lot of info online it will drive you nuts. This is a good forum and people...

  • Please TRY TRY TRY not to overthink everything. The attorney will ask you questions and you answer them honestly. I am not an attorney, but I know there are time periods they look at and I would say just about everything they ask is not as worrisome as it sounds. Many people get hung up (this if...

Ours is through wage deduction. The trustee has a way to pay online, but we only used that in the beginning before the amount was taken from my paycheck. We weren't given any options on how to pay, the attorney told us it would be deducted from the paycheck and I never even thought about asking if...

  • From what you said it sounds like everything is OK. I did not do Chapter 7, but did 13. Yes, it is stressful. Yes, we worry too much. Yes, if the lawyer says it's ok in my experience it's OK!

I never stopped paying my car loans or mortgage before we filed, but stopped all credit cards. An attorney would be the best one to ask.

If you can pay the mortgage my gut feeling is to keep doing it and justbroke mentioned 30-60 days prior to filing so if you are talking July or August...

replied to What if you ask for dismissal
Just a question on this subject. Does this mean if you have a credit card that was paid off through bankruptcy, but you get dismissed that credit card company can come back even though it's paid in full and go after you for any interest or fees that would have accrued from the time you filed. For...

Fortunately, only the one password was in use on one site. The other hasn't been used in forever it's just a word no numbers,. no capitalization. Neither are passwords for my banks or email addresses. I always made sure to make those passwords more difficult, but I use to share a few passwords between...

    Credit Karma Security Breach

I got an email from Credit Karma today telling me that I was involved in at least 10 security breaches.

They listed two passwords that were effected. They listed the first two letters then blanked out the middle and then the last letter. They are passwords I have used in the past. One...

You can't take my word as gospel, but Calvary and Capitol Management took months to sue us. I agree do not say you are thinking about bankruptcy. I didn't answer the phone, unplugged the land line and turned off the ringer on my cell.

I agree see some attorneys. I think we only paid...
